Why is there always an empty cop car on the interstate when entering Kenner?

Between EBR and WBR? Isn't that at the top of the Mississippi River bridge?

At the Livingston / EBR line.

Gotta make sure you get your cut of the meth traffic.

I know they aren’t doing anything about the actual crimes that are taking place around them. Just taxation

That car hasn't been there for 10+ years I'd say.

they just sit there killing time doing paperwork or taking naps on standby in case someone calls in a BOLO or needs backup, sometimes they are waiting on drug traffic car they were typed off about was on the way

they arent there to really do anything, but they claim that them just being visible makes people pay attention to speed limits

I drive to Metry that way 3 days a week and haven't seen it in a while. I remember it being there for decades though.

Think they're either drug interdiction or immigration cops... not traffic cops.

they do the same thing on I 40 just east of Memphis, have heard they track suspicious cars across multiple states and have a very high percentage hit ratio for narcos

Passed ther yesterday, a state cop had a guy pulled over writing him up, another suv with no markings was backing into position to get the next offender.
They lull you into complacency with the dummy cars, then bust your arse when you disregard them.
Kenner car would every so often have a live cop in it, saw it take off and get somebody once.

Gotta grab that revenue, man.

Notice they are usually on the westbound side. They are trying to capture the cash from drugs sales before it makes it way to Texas and ultimately Mexico. Drugs come in from Mexico, but the cash goes back to Mexico.
