Samantha Bee’s “Full Frontal” is getting a kick in the rear from Warner Bros. Discovery.

The show, which became a signature program for the large cable network TBS, “will not return to the network in the fall,” according to a statement from Bee’s representatives.

“As we continue to shape our new programming strategy, we’ve made some difficult, business-based decisions,” TBS said in a statement. “We are proud to have been the home to “Full Frontal With Samantha Bee” and thank Sam, and the rest of the Emmy-nominated team for their groundbreaking work. We celebrate this extraordinarily talented cast and crew and look forward to exploring new opportunities to work with them in the future.”

Over the course of seven seasons, Bee’s “Full Frontal” brought an aggressive and saucy voice to TV’s late-night arena, and one of the few programs with a female point of view. Bee captured attention with outrageous humor and monologues that pushed the usually genial cable network to embrace hefty amounts of profanity and tackle political issues that are often polarizing. In 2018, the show became part of the news cycle when Bee used a charged epithet that refers to a part of the female anatomy to insult President Donald Trump’s daughter, Ivanka. Advertisers pulled back commercial support, for a time.

Democrats I suppose. On the commercials I’ve seen for that show, it was nothing but bashing trump and republicans.

Y’all need to change your views of how audience numbers work.

For cable shows like this, there is minimal correlation between viewership and longevity.

It isn’t a thing anymore.

Especially with these progressive political shows. They are cheap to produce and ads will come no matter what.

This isn’t the pre-2000s anymore.

An eventual sensible move from a network whose programming faux pas are so legendary they've canceled two different shows that were complete and in the can, each on the day they were to air.

S2 of Chad, and The Big D, the divorcee dating show.

Maybe Trevor Noah will soon follow her fat arse out the door.

As long as we still have that hilarious Trevor Noah.

Just think: if those are the funniest bits from his show used for the commercials how horrible the other 20 minutes are.

You know it's bad when they cancel a show "that tackled political issues that are often polarizing" right before mid-terms

Say it slower...

Seriously, though. The above comments about hack content like this being dirt cheap and politically-expedient are totally accurate. Comedy Central would likely fold as a network before they pulled the plug on The Daily Show. They see themselves as some manner of institution, by now.

If this is a signature program for your network, you’re network has problems. Pretty sure the ratings were at or near the bottom of all the late night shows for the past several years.

The larger question is when is the last time TBS had good original content besides Conan?

They should just stick to being a sitcom re-run network.

Honestly it should have been cancelled before even Trump got elected. There’s no way they had more than 100,000 people watching that show, and they are all liberal white Karen’s who live in a studio apartment in the upper east side.

I'd heard of this show, but I had to look up Samantha Bee because I honestly didn't know who she was. After seeing her picture, I still don't.

If you would have told me it was cancelled in 2019, I wouldn't call you a liar.

Strange comparisons:
• Craig Kilborn lasted five seasons on The Late Late Show.
• Bob Costas was on Later for six seasons.

Never watched an episode but for several years every single promo was a dig a Trump. I imagine that she lost a portion of her minimal audience when he left office
