I went down the rabbit hole of those guys that go around finding cars in rivers for missing people (like Adventures for Purpose) and they always find a shite ton of cars off boat ramps.

Yeah this is why

The vast majority here have a trailer hitch that’s still factory shiny.

So probably not many here would have this problem.

This happens so often that I'm beginning to think that we need a separate trailer/boat towing license.

I said it a few weeks ago this is how I launch my boat every time. Just makes things easier.

I don't know how these trucks struggle. When I was a kid my dad used a 4cyl Volvo 240 to tow our boat. Never an issue.

I've used a 2x4 tacoma many times.
Most of these boats aren't That big. What is going on here?

Lost his baw status in the process, too.

I grew up in west Texas where water was scarce, dad sold our boat when I was young. I can't say I know how to successfully launch any style boat. This type of thing has been a slight reason for never getting into boating.

Seems staged because of how old that truck is. Doesn’t mean anything but it’s a way to get some likes for an old beater truck you were going to get rid of anyways.

Only thing that makes it seem real is how much trash was in the bed. Would be pretty fricked to stage this and not clean the truck out first and let all that trash get into the water.

Idiot. He deserved what happened. Doesn’t fake a rocket scientist twist to launch a boat, especially a little 16 foot river boat like that. No need to back that far down just need to get the back of the boat floating and it will come right off.

When you tow anything your brakes get hot(unless you have a trailer with brakes). I’d imagine most of these are that their brakes just fail on them

Should have picked it up off the trailer and just sat it in the water.
