Which probably had something to do with the Yankees easily making the playoffs. And the Red Sox finishing 9 games behind.

The MVP is an individual award, not a team award. Otherwise, Mike Trout would never be a 3X MVP winner.

Face it. If a Triple Crown winner, who also leads the league in a half dozen other categories, doesn’t win the MVP award, the voters have a serious problem, and the trophy is tainted.

The voter's stance has seemingly softened in the last 5 years or so. But historically speaking, team success was usually taken in consideration. Not always. But most MVP's end up in the playoffs. Or at least are in contention to down the stretch of the season.

Williams should have won that year. But in 1942, winning the Triple Crown wasn't as revered as it is now. It's certainly possible some of the voters had bias for Gordon. But the Yankees cruising to the World Series likely also had some influence.

I find this a significantly worse production then the last dance

The last 10/15 of episode one we're ok the rest has been pretty boring

Spike Lee is pretty washed as a producer and Derek isn't as interesting of an interview as MJ

Its a great documentary regardless of how you feel about Jeter as a player.

I am amazed at how in likeable this documentary is making Jeter look and I honestly think they were trying to do the opposite

I had no clue he was such a prick

I watched some of it last night. I never thought he was a jerk when he played.

I don’t think Jeter merits the Jordan treatment.

He’s not as good as Jordan
He’s not as interesting as Jordon

Unless they talk about the gift baskets

Jeter was clutch in the post season, but it feels like the documentary is trying to make Jeter as THE reason for the Yankees success. One singular baseball player does not have that much influence on a team over a 162 game season. If you replace Jeter in 1995 with one of his all-star contemporaries from the 90s like Nomar or Barry Larkin, does anyone believe the Yankees would have won any less? Not even going to mention A-Rod here as I think that is a given.

He all but came out and blamed the 2004 loss to the Sox on Arod

“Some of our new players weren’t used to winning in the postseason. They didn’t know how to win”

Jeter hit .200 in the series with a .500 OPS Arod actually had a solid series

I alsways thought Jeter was extrmely humble and grounded. This show hs proven me that isn’t true. He is just quiet. But he is a huge narcissist and extrmely insecure. His jealousy of Arod is palpable through the screen. Arod actually comes off as very self aware in the show

It is excellent and losers just won't get it.

Geaux tiggas, lmao

One of 33 players all-time with 3k hits, number 6 on the list. In New York while winning championships and in playoffs contention every year. The backwoods hicks won't get it.

Salute 2, winner.
