Mike got paid in 2019.Then went out and set the NFL record for receptions in a season. Then got injured and only started in 5 games and still had 40 rec. before they pulled him for the season. So setting that record wasn't jack shite?

he hasn't played in 2 years he's not close to a top 10 WR right now.

He hasn't played for two years. Until he can put in a full season and prove he can play, he's not a top receiver.

I totally agree. 2016 - 2019 he was a top 10 WR each season including his rookie year.

As long as he's playing this season, he'll crack 1,000 yards.

That is blatantly false.

I do not have a problem if they do not have him top 10 - he plays better when he has a chip on his shoulder - i'd like to see a motivated Mike this year

For the 3 downvotes, is there a saints team in an alternate universe I can watch where he is playing?

And this is really all it is. He hasn't played in a couple years. You sit for years and you get passed up. In that time new kids have come in and done extremely well. Its gonna be on him to to get back into the conversation of best WR.

There is really no way to tell until he plays. That injury was far from ideal. May even take a good bit of the year to knock the rust off.

Doubt he ever has the volume he once did but really doesn’t need to.

This topic has been done to death why fight it anymore.

Hey people think he quit after he got paid while ignoring he had his best year as a pro why fight it. They are allowed to be wrong.

If he plays out this year and has a bad year then thats a discussion. But lets see what he does first

WRs get forgotten about quickly in the NFL

and he hasn't played in over a year. Kind of an unknown if he will ever return to form. He had a real appreciation and respect for Brees. I don't know if he will put in the time and grind for Jameis like he did for Drew.

He definitely does not belong on the list right now due to inactivity.
I can also see anyone having doubts about a WR returning to top 10 form after being out for a year & a half, especially an ankle injury to a player that already was not known for his speed/explosiveness.
What Thomas does have going for him is his age, he is competitive AF, and his hands.
The year Drew went down and Teddy B came in Thomas' numbers still were there, so the people making the Brees>Winston argument for his potential drop in production don't have much of a case. Now going from Payton-Carmichael calling plays, that may be a bigger factor. Also now add in Landry / Olave / Harty / Callaway and consider that Thomas should not have to be force fed or be the only person who can run effective routes
Also his contract, even if he has an 80rec/900yrd/6TD year is still not a bad value based on current WR contracts

He will never make half the season before he’s hurt again. Stick a fork in him he’s done! One and a half seasons without playing a down. You know he’s not in playing shape it’s a sure bet he will be hurt again!
