How the hell are they still making *good* music. To put it in perspective, they started so long ago they missed overlap with Led Zeppelin by only a few years.

The only other group I can think of who put(s) out good music for as long as RHCP is maybe Metallica, might be missing someone from past decades though

40 years from LA punk clubs to arenas.
Not too shabby.
They have a great catalog of incredible music and still put on great shows from what I hear.
I've seen them 3x, including the infamous Municipal Auditorium show in NOLA with Pearl Jam and Smashing Pumpkins in '91..

KISS is still damn near selling out arenas while on their 20 year retirement tour.

U2 recent music is horrible. Remember when Apple put their new song on everyone's Iphone for free and people were really pissed? Hilarious. Keith Richards and Mark Knopfler just put out albums not long ago and Built To Spill, The Pretenders, Steve Forbert, Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan etc all still recording and touring. It's actually kind of a golden age for the geezers.

Iron Maiden, while far from their glory days, is still putting out excellent music for guys in their 60’s.

Willie Nelson's music career started before Led Zeppelin. Willie's 2019 release Ride Me Back Home charted at number two on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart. He's playing Outlaw Fest in Dallas tonight.

The just released a #1 album and are selling out arenas. I'd say yes.

I dont think selling out nostalgia tours is the same as putting out new music that people are listening to.

Nobody is saying "Did you hear that new KISS record? It kicks arse!"
