"LSU can't compete with _______ in NIL" is a false narrative.

1. LSU's alumni and booster network has the money to stay competitive in NIL. In the arms race of college athletics over the last 20 years, LSU never hurt for support and was arguably ahead of the game. Look at what we've spent on facilities, coaches, and buyouts compared to other major programs. While we may not have enough to go dollar for dollar with the University of Texas or Miami, we have enough support and money to fill out 85 football roster spots with serious talent. There are always only a finite amount four and five stars to go around, and a finite of roster spots across Power 5 football. LSU has what it takes to continue to sign our fair share.

2. We have an advantage over many programs due to being the only Power 5 school in the state. This solidifies the donor base across the state. Additionally, LSU directly benefits from Texas money as well. Outside the state of Louisiana, LSU has a large alumni base in Houston and DFW. There is a reason Louisiana is grouped in with Texas in this chart. We also have good alumni support in Atlanta, and many other US cities.

3. Let's not kid ourselves, money has been involved in recruiting for a long time. The difference with NIL is the money now passes over the table, out in the open. If LSU was strongly competitive in a world of shady back-room recruitment we will remain just as competitive in the world of NIL.

We may be a step behind now because of the novelty of NIL, a coaching transition, and fresh legislation but we won't be for long. Give Kelly time to build relationships in the state, get our collective going, and do what he's always been able to do with out-of-state blue chips.

Why are we getting our arse kicked in recruiting in 2022 and 2023 at the moment.

Y’all need to stop with this. This is over. Kids don’t care about us being DBU or what we have done in 2019 anymore. They don’t care. This generation sucks

I hope you’re right. I hate what NIL has done to the sport tho. I just have a very unsettling feeling that this is the end of college football.

2022 recruiting- is this a real question, lol?
Oh, did we sign, or any other team sign, the 2023 class already?

This board has some thin skinned, panty wringing nellie's on it, for sure!

Our fans are extremely dumb, defeatist and have low self esteem.

It's not surprising they are wrong on this. They are wrong on everything else.

Today's recruiting is mostly about the money. Across the board.

LSU will drop back a little, U$C, OSU and A&M will improve.

Its the pros now. They aren't there for any love of the game.

LSU is using a strategy and frankly I think it’s a smart one. Lock up the the lower ranked kids now. Let the bidders throw money around at the higher ranked kids now until the number needed to secure the kid stabilizes. No need to keep pushing in up in July. Swoop in a week or two prior to signing day with a matching or greater offer. This is sort of your classic auction type strategy. This is the best way to prioritize who you want at the end so that you can secure their signature.

Seriously?

In 2004 LSU had the #2 ranked class.
In 2005, under a new coach, LSU had the #22 ranked class.
LSU would win the NC 2 years later.

In 2016 LSU had the #2 ranked class.
In 2017, under a new coach, LSU had the #8 ranked class.
LSU would win the NC 2 years later.

In 2021 LSU had the #3 ranked class.
In 2022, under a new coach, LSU had the #12 ranked class.
LSU will win the NC...

See a pattern?

It was 12th based on solely high school players. We were like #6 overall when everything was accounted for
