I read

quote:

received a call indicating an 18-month-old male child may have been left in an unattended vehicle for several hours

Did you?

Of course part of me asks the question how the hell do you forget your toddler in a car.

I don't think you mean anything ugly here, but when you think about the busy lives we lead, it's not as hard to imagine. There was one a couple years ago who was taking his toddler to daycare on the way to work when normally his wife would've done that. Once he started driving he just went to work for the day And left the baby in the car.

Yeah the only "evidence" it was an accident is that he instantly killed himself.

That’s not how prosecuting someone for murder goes. They have to prove it was intentional, lowbrow snark about the evidence of it being an accident don’t take the case very far.

You hear about it enough to where I check my backseat every day even though I know for a fact I dropped them out at daycare.

Wife actually knew a girl that did it. Exhausted and thought she dropped the baby off at daycare, I forget whether or not she said she got jail time for it

I’ve been fortunate enough that I’ve never been suicidal but if I left my daughter in the car and that happened, that would probably put me over the edge.

Just an awful awful situation

There is a mom in central ms that forgot her child was in the backseat, went about her day, and at the end of the day, showed up to the daycare to pick up her child only to find out the child had deceased in the back seat of the car she had been driving around that morning.

there is nothing worse as a parent....just unimaginable.

Echoing others in this thread, this was an irrational fear of mine as well for a long time. Harder to do once the car seat is forward facing though

My MIL was so absent minded I’m surprised any of her children survived.Heard stories -went to grocery store with 3 children and left my wife’s baby brother at home sleeping in his crib.

Wife said she never had a birthday party in her life, her mother never remembered any of her children’s birthdays.

Woman had the worst case of ADD I’ve ever seen.
