How long have you had the same cell phone number? (Update)

Kind of a spin off from the hs class reunion thread.
I graduated hs in 2005 and I got a cell phone probably towards the end of my sophomore year in 2003. I have never changed the number, so this number has been with me for 19 years, roughly. I still have hs contacts in my phone from that time. What are the odds they also never changed their numbers? Prior to randomly contacting some people, I am hoping this thread will give me an idea of how long some people keep their numbers. My area code isn't even from Louisiana, but I have never bothered to change the number.
Key topics (short version):
1. How long have you had your current cellphone number?
2. Does the area code for your cell match the area you live?
(Update):
It seems that the general concensus is most people have had the same number since the initial obtaining of a cell phone. Upon review of the responses, this started approximately circa 2000+/-, which seems to be about the time it really started taking off.

I used to have a job where I had a work provided cell so I ditched the personal line. We had Nextels but eventually upgraded to Blackberry. I think I've had this number since 2013 or so.
Didn't have a cell phone in HS or college.

November or December 2003.
The only number I have ever had, never had my own landlines.
And yes, repping the 901 for life.
