Hosted two exchange students one in '15 and one in '16 each for 9 weeks couple of years ago.
I hope you weren't responsible for the English lessons.

We hosted a college aged Japanese girl when I was 14. Would recommend.
Gonna need some more details here, chief.

My family hosted exchange students twice when I was in 7th and 9th grade. First one was a 17 year old German kid. Great dude with a great family. Summer after he left, we went and stayed with his family for 2 weeks and traveled around Germany. Second one was a 19 year old Swedish kid. God damn he was awkward, but a nice guy overall.
From my perspective from having 2 live with my family that were older than me, I'd recommend it. I learned a lot about their different culture and society, and now I always have a place to stay if I ever end up in Stockholm or Frankfurt

Had the opposite experience when I was 14. Got sent to central Mexico where I lived in squalor. The town featured dirt roads and donkeys pulling wagons. I got Montezuma’s revenge and got hit by a delivery truck while walking around dehydrated one day.
Would have loved to trade places with you.

We hosted a young man from Germany for a short term exchange, 3 weeks I believe. It was great. Kid was a huge basketball fan and we got the chance to take him to see his hero, Dirk Nowitski. That was 15 years ago…….not sure about today.

We hosted a girl from Ecuador when I was in high school. She stayed for around a month. There was a whole group that came. It was a lot of fun. I'd definitely recommend it.
Still keep up with her every now and then through Facebook.
Unfortunately I was a senior, so didn't get to do the reverse trip down that was going on the next year.

Kind of similar thing happened with a male student from Spain except he didn't steal them. He bought a shite ton of Levi's to take back with him to sell. This was in the early 90's. Said he would make a fortune re-selling them when he got back.

She was good looking, loved hot baths and had a big bush. I made it a point to accidentally walk into the bathroom when she was bathing.

I had a Dutchman live in our house my senior year. He was an absolute blast, and is still one of my good friends. My folks also took in 3 other of my friends out of less than ideal households, so it was always a party waiting to happen.
The exposure to a person from a different culture, even if it is American adjacent, is a great learning experience for your children. Unfortunately, I would guess that it is a crapshoot whether or not they're an unmanageable shithead or a weirdo.

Had a 50/50 shot between Swedish girl and boy and got the boy. Lost on the deal.
We ended up having to send him home for reasons after lots of effort.

Just remembered about this Jap kid my cousin hosted as an exchange student back in the mid-90's. One day they come over to visit us in Baton Rouge, and we all go downtown to the state capitol. We are at the top and he spots the U.S.S. Kidd. His conversation with me went something like this:
Jap: "Ah, American warship. Was it in a war?"
Me: "Yes. World War II and the Korean War."
Jap: "Who did it fight?"
Me: "Probably your grandfather."
I think it went over his head, but my cousin sure got pissed at me.

I've met a few Japanese women that fit that bill, but since she was 14, would you please take a seat right over here?

French kids are arrogant twats. That's the only experience I have.
My parents hosted a 14 year old French guy when I was 12. Other than him pissing on himself every other day and forcing him to shower- it was great.

He said he was 14, the girl was college aged.

Oh, never mind, then he should have asked her to have a seat
