I wish they'd move this game all over the country.

why should they?

It has to be in a place that is easy for the cadets and midshipmen to all be there.

You can travel anytime you'd like

You wouldn't ask for Ohio State Michigan to be played in Houston?

Or people just get off the couch and visit the Academies.

Beano Cook said his best CFB experience (in a lifetime of covering CFB) was walking the grounds at West Point in the early morning with no fans and just soaking up the history.

There's nothing wrong with a small venue like Mitchie Stadium. Maybe people learn something walking the grounds at West Point and see the monuments.

I'd rather they'd just rotate between the two campuses.

Strawman.

Maybe you can't tell the subtle difference in players from the University of Michigan and Ohio State University and those from the United States Military Academy and United States Naval Academy.

It's two of America's teams and I think it'd be cool if the game rotated around, you know, America.

I understand the travel concerns for the cadets though.

My FIL went to a game at West Point years ago and still raves about it.

Why?

Because they're amazing campuses and deserve to be showcased.

Fair enough.

Just looked it up. It's been played on campus in 7/122 meetings.

1890 (first meeting) - West Point
1891 - Annapolis
1892 - West Point
1893 - Annapolis
1942 - Annapolis
1943 - West Point
2020 - West Point

Another thing is the crowd. Neither Michie nor NMCMS have a large enough capacity for this game.

Yeah I understand why they don't. Just wish they did is all.

You don't see many rivalries with really NO history of being played at the campuses. It is interesting.

My wife and I went to the game at MetLife last year. Very enjoyable, everyone should go at least once.

Distance from Annapolis, MD to Foxborough, MA = 7 hr 13 mins

Distance from Annapolis, MD to Columbus, OH = 6 hr 55 mins.

So if Foxborough is close enough distance wise to The Naval Academy, then so is Columbus (The Horseshoe), Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Buffalo and Cincinnati. There are more cities they can choose from that aren't adding any distance for these schools. Imagine an Army/Navy game in places like The Shoe? That would be incredible!! But, they will never move it outside of the East Coast.

It was played in Chicago in 1926 and at the Rose Bowl in 1983.

Ah, for some reason I miss Beano Cook. That guy was a college football encyclopedia.

Hasn't the game been in Philadelphia for a long time?

(Apparently, it was recently moved out of Philadelphia. But if memory serves correct, it was played at Philadelphia every year for a long time.)

Yeah but he went in like the 50s to West Point and toured the campus before the game. Walked the grounds back when they played the game there.

I took my daughters to West Point for a football game --- Army vs Tulane --- back in October 21, 2000.

Tulane lost 17-21 but it was a great game, one that you would remember forever.
Every time Army scored a touchdown the cadets set off the cannon. There was an echo lasting 3minutes with each blast.
The site was something to behold because mid-October is the peak of fall season and the colors are breathtaking. Then you have the fort/castle structures all on the point of the Hudson River.

You can't ask for better.

At Ohio Stadium would be sick and most certainly sell out.
