No, that's not what people are saying. We do like our Tigers but that isn't the sole reason he is liked.

He's great to listen to. I like how he explains the pitch and so forth. He explains things in a neat way so you can learn something. Sort of to teach people who are interested in the sport regardless of what team they pull for.

He's objective about whoever is playing and doesn't play favorites.

He's a great person to boot. Very courteous and respectful.

Been thinking the very same thing for some time now. His stories are entertaining and he doesn't just ramble on like some of the other idiots calling games!

he's good but, he needs to stop predicting what the next pitch will be. let it play out.

Amen. I could listen to him commentate any game across the country and I’d be engaged.

Not sure what has happened to Kyle. He was in many ways the gold standard for college baseball announcing. Very knowledgeable, likable and enthusiastic about the game. Lately he seems disinterested and tired. Can't put my finger on it.

Love Ben. They asked him about making changes to college baseball and he said....

"you are talking to a guy who has had the same haircut since he was 5.."

Funny

Thought the same things. Not sure what it is? Maybe he's just getting old and burnt out.

Kyle seems depressed...like he caught his wife with the pool boy or something

Yeah I’m not sure but Kyle is 46 and he physically looks 56 so energy can drop if not on top of it in your 40’s. Just seems to be laboring his delivery even last night just seems low energy.
Back to Big Ben he is fun as mentioned multiple times and explains baseball like we are all young again and expresses his thoughts in such a positive way you are intrigued to stay around to listen. It’s a special gift very few have so to be able to call him our own as an OG Tiger with Skip and a fantastic person is the icing as a LSU sports fan.

Ben brings energy and deep baseball knowledge to every broadcast. Couple that with relevant, entertaining baseball stories and you've got the best in the game.

Don't like the way the other broadcasters treat Ben and his stories as a weird novelty - subtle jabs like "said no one ever" are abundant.

Ben is just a cool cat and a TIGER LEGEND.

The story about trailer hitches sticking out from these pickups that he told and people bumping into them with their leg. Those things should be a ticket for leaving them out when not in use.

Curious as to what the Orioles listeners think of him.

I am not an LSU “homer” and my dad and I were talking about how good Ben is as a commentator last night. He gives great insight about pitching, he is funny and entertaining, and it doesn’t take away from the game like many other commentators do in various sports. Also, met him briefly once at a golf scramble fundraiser for the high school I coached at and he is as nice as he comes across on tv.

He adds a ton of insight but he’s also pretty damn comical and seems like a guy you’d want to drink a beer and shoot the shite with. TWalker is insightful as well but he misses the mark in the personality department.

I was just about to post. The two complementary guys suck on this Ole miss game. They got nothing and lots of dead air.
Time to move Ben up!!

When the Auburn player hit his shin with a foul ball and didn’t have a guard, that was his comparison.

They are on a rotation so that wasn't his game. I sure hope they put Ben in the booth for the 3-game championship and not fricking Perez for inclusion purposes. Thats the only way Perez happens.
