USA Today reports that 5 Louisiana cities made the list for the 50 Worst Cities in America. Bastrop ranked #7.

They are aiming to be number one with about 50 bullets, one of which may hit the target.

3 were shot, 2 dead. The urban yutes in Strop City are out of control.

My first Louisiana speaking engagement was in Bastrop. The community leaders could not have been nicer.

The third died at the hospital. I'm still hearing 4 were killed. Doesn't really matter if it was 3 or 4. This shite is out of control in Bastrop.

The incident happened on Bentley Street, in a grassy area
Police may want to check to book depository nearby for the shooter

Bastrop is such a sad town to drive through. So many abandoned business buildings and homes, dirty, grass needs to be cut, people fight each other in the Highway. Very rough place too. I can’t believe kids got killed though. This nonsense has got to stop.

The shooters were probably last seen booking, but your nod to the JFK grassy knoll is acknowledged.

If it’s not a white person, it’s not a problem

When you say kids, are we talking teens?
Probably up to no good if I had to take a wild guess.

Ex wife's family is from there, so I've spent lots of time in Bastrop. But this was 30-40 years ago, it was much different I assume. Didn't seem terrible then.

Back then there was a giant International Paper Mill planted right in the middle of town. Bastrop was prosperous, and it was an nice pretty nice place to live. The mill left about 10 years ago and sucked all the life out of the town. Now it's a shithole of despair.

When the mill left the entire town went to shite

Of course it didn't, you admitted that it was 30-40 years ago. There have been 3 generational cycles since then. In some households, there are 40 something y/o great-grandmothers, 30 something y/o grandmothers, teenage moms w/ newborn kids. This is learned behavior.

Thanks, that is what I wondered.

Unless a white person committed the crime, these lives don't matter.
