It's an iconic stadium with an amazing history of sporting events. In a city full of historic structures, tearing down and building new is out of line. Renovating is much cheaper.

I love the dome. Rich in history, and in the process of major upgrades. All the ramps are being torn out to open up the interior this year.

Only gripe is after several renovations since 2006, why in the world have they not replaced the terrace and loge end zone seats?

If you don’t like it, don’t go.

Pretty simple.

Our state would rather spend money on glass sculptures in New Orleans and research the sleeping habits of lizards.

With that being said, I'm good as long as I leave deaf, drunk & without my voice and a Saints W to top it off

I've been to Jerry World and while it was nice and fancy, it didn't have the game day experience of a Saints game. Spend all that money and end up watching the big screen.

I've been to Atlanta's sphincter stadium and it wasn't anything special

Went to Texans and was the same thing

Something about the Dome has a certain mystique that can not be replicated with 2 billion dollar stadiums.

Maybe they could buy a piece of land in a field somewhere in St. Tammany parish and put it over there away from all the cluster frick in downtown NOLA.
See, to me that just continues to be the problem with people from LA, the city is your greatest treasure, the money maker of the state or region, and you want to put a new stadium somewhere else. Smh The issue to me is that the people of LA don't try and invest in the city, they'd rather cast stones at it from outside parishes. That city could be a goldmine the way it generates tourism, but it needs to be cleaned up of all of the bad leadership, crime, corruption and etc. I mean just looking at what happened down there over the weekend I guess with the thugs basically so-called taking over the city and all to perform doughnuts downtown while blocking off main street traffic is appalling. Dancing on top a police cruiser while the officer behind the wheel does absolutely nothing shows how pathetic the leadership of that city has become. New Orleans is a great city that just needs the right people in office and in the city to turn it around.

Actually, the Dome is one of the few things that was done well. It has stood the test of time and is not a dump. Where is the state going to get the money to pay for a new stadium?

It’s much better now but I remember going to MBS in Atlanta for the SECCG and Peach Bowl then going to the dome for the CFPNCG and just being completely completely underwhelmed.

I think you are trying to compare it to Atlanta, Las Vegas, and LA.. All of those stadiums are brand new. Super Dome has history for one. I personally think they have done a great job at keeping it up over the years

That's an awesome idea. It's not like the allure of big games in the Dome is the walking distance to the Quarter and Warehouse District. Man, imagine all of the people clamoring to be stuck in traffic for hours on 190, while being unable to walk anywhere fun. Amazing!

I'm telling you now and you can write this down... The Dome is what will eventually put the Saints in another city. Go ahead. Quote me. I'll stand by it.

The main issue is it lies in the perfect spot, so rebuilding a stadium would take many years. Assuming the money can be found, we're probably looking at the very least 10 years out from a teardown. New Orleans as a whole might not be worth it then.

ETA: at least the gold color on the outside shows now. It used to look so dull and boring. Did they repaint?

Not that there's anything wrong with our classic, iconic stadium, but,

Alternatively, if they decide to keep it in the city, maybe they could just add some extra bleachers to Tulane Stadium and use it temporarily while they demolish the Dome and build a new stadium?

I think that's the real reason why Yulman Stadium was designed to be expanded to 50,000 if need be.. not because Tulane would ever draw that large a consistent crowd.

Ultimately, though, there is zero reason to replace the Superdome at this time.
