Yeah it’s his fault that our pitcher had a 0-2 and 1-2 count and served up fresh meat for 2 hitters.
The dude won 40 games his first year and over achieved with the pitching staff. Our team plays their arse’ off for him.

He was actually very poor at pulling the right strings with pinch hitters, seems like 95% of the time, his pinch hitters struck out. And a lot of times when it felt like a good time for a pinch hitter, the original hitter struck out. This was throughout the season going back to the first La Tech loss.

Face it this team was NOT winning the CWS this year so this day was going to come soon enough.
This pitching staff is not even average so no way it’s holding up in Omaha or probably a super regional.
I think the season went about as I expected. Possible super regional team but not going to Omaha.

Wasnt going to get very far if got to the supers. JJ was showing on live display he had no arms rhat can do the job, if ya cant do the job vs USM, can ya do it vs ole miss that wiped lsu off the field in games like rhey were not even there. LSU got owned by usm a much better team that really wanted it

Jay Johnson took a team with just 1 Middle reliever in Hilliard to the brink of a Super Regional.
Baseball is about pitching and defense. He was at a huge disadvantage in both cases inheriting Thompson, who was a bad fielder last year and Doughty who wasn’t much better, and won almost 40 games.
He did all that without the advantage of getting to campus early and had to rerecruit his own team because of the portal. Skip will tell you himself that it is much harder to win today. In fact he said,
“Show me the dominating program and or coaches winning multiple titles” just last year when talking about Paul.
Dude gets an A+
