JT and Inniswold does not get a lot of attention, but it is a nice neighborhood and can find value in there. With the new school opening, I would think the home values would increase. Great location.

Good options.
No idea about pricing lately. Everything is super expensive.

It's had flooding issues since Oschner built that building downstream from them.

Interesting, I was not aware of that. It is a great neighborhood to bike/ walk around in. Was looking at the "aquatic club" there... gives off Caddy Shack vibes but not sure of the crowd that goes there. Doesn't look like anything to write home about but appears to be a decent spot to bring an ice chest and relax a bit.

Ohh, I didn't realize they flooded over there. Man, flooding really is getting out of control.
Edit - I like Pollard a lot too, as far as more established neighborhoods go.

I would be hesitant to live out in UClub. It’s far from everything and an absolute bitch to exit in the morning. I would also be miserable making that drive down Bluebonnet Extension every day.
I live there and its fine. It never takes me more than 5 minutes to get out the neighborhood in the morning. The busy times are during school and there is a cop in the mornings directing traffic.
Its far enough away to feel secluded but you are still 10 minutes from anything you want to do, movies, LSU, grocery store, etc.

19 posts in 9 years with a couple of those being in this thread? You must really like UC. Do you have kids that go to St. Jude? I live in UC and that's where my kids go.

It's definitely a nice neighborhood. I couldn't live that far out, but I do think it's nice. Toured a couple of houses out there a few years back and really liked it.

How did that happen? The place is gated with security at the entrances and roaming the neighborhood.
Two instances that I know of they came by boat on whatever waterway runs through there, the other the culprits were posing as a lawn crew and somehow got past security. These were a long time ago, there have been other more recent cases.

Oak Hills is nice but it is way too close to Siegen and gets a lot of unwanted visitors.
I've been in Oak Hills place for 12 years and we have never had an issue and neither has anyone we know. It's one of the last neighborhoods that you regularly see kids riding bikes and playing outside without a helicopter mom following them around.
To the OP, Oak Hills is huge. There are some old houses, all well built, and some newer ones in the last couple filings.

nah not really true
they do have those apartments close to the perkins rd side that seem less than desirable but haven't really heard of any spill over from it

Though referred to as Southdowns, Audubon place works just fine.

Where will either of you be working? Give us a general area. Traffic around here can be obnoxious. You will care where you live in relation to your job and your kids' school.

OP here- Job will be just south of the I-10/I-12 interchange close to Westminster area.

Essen can get very backed up during rush hour, but if that’s your only problem road, you should be fine north of that in Jefferson/Corporate or Tara. There are also some nice areas off of Perkins that shouldn’t be terrible for you.
