Outside of Thibodaux Basketball and South Lafourche Baseball the last few years it’s been very quiet in the area these last few years in terms of playoff success. Those 2 programs have something in common: Consistency in the coaching staff.

Really hasn’t been great except for the championship season 4 years ago. Central’s Best player transferring to Thibodaux that season had a lot to that with that championship too.

I guess so, the AD and the Principal are tight and the AD is a fricking joke. The good ol' boy network in full force. Such a shame but blame the Principal and AD for that mess.

I remember a time when my school Ponchatoula High was in that shape. Now they are the best athletic program in 6 5A and probably in the entire Northshore area. Times change man you never know what might happen.

I stand corrected forgot SL girls basketball. Other than Sl Baseball, Girls Basketball, and Thib basketball has anyone in Lafourche been to the quarters in the last 5-10 years in any major sport? Crazy to think about

Things need to change for it to ever happen. It’s been 26 years since CL has won a playoff game, and “coincidentally” 25 years ago is when the AD arrived at Central. Now it’s not all his fault obviously but as his influence over the program grew the program has sunken lower and lower and is now the shitshow that he’s running today.

CL made quarters in basketball and soccer once in that timeframe. CL Girls soccer has a state runner up, and couple semi and couple quarter appearances. There’s a few good years here and there for every school, but really cl girls soccer, sl baseball and sl girls basketball are the only good consistent programs in the area.

The Lafourche youth soccer program is/was quite good.
