So he gonna cut out the dealership and pass the savings on to consumers?

If that's what this is about, I'm in. Except I'm never going to buy a Ford.

I bet his dealer network is thrilled.

Tesla has proven this model works.

I’m not sure you understand the auto industry.
Would make fords much more competitive price wise.

I have no problem with anything he said.
You love the back and forth with the sleezy salesman or something?

No, the greedy independent dealers are going to kill themselves long before the mfg’s kill themselves.

I love the current dealership model. Those that put in the work can make a great deal. Once they go the tesla route everyone will get fricked.

sounds like dealers got greedy and the paddle is coming for them.

Yeah a Ford is the exact same as a Tesla. Tesla is a show off car, no one cares about Ford.

Good. The stealership model blows.

It’s a win for everyone except the slimy arse car dealers. I’m all for this model.

Apparently you don't remember or were not alive in the early 2000's where auto makers bought up huge lots of dealerships and fricking failed at selling their own fricking vehicles? Competition between dealers keep the prices down you idiot.

So i won't have to pay a $250 destination charge no more?

It seems to me he is just trying to modernize their distribution. This is probably how all car companies will operate in the next 50 years. He's just trying to get ahead of it. Maybe he's wrong, maybe I'm wrong, but it makes sense. Dealers will still exist for resales and used cars and "certified pre-owned" purposes, and even still keep a few new vehicles on prem for test drive purposes with some kind of commission structure, but this seems to be the future of new car sales.
And face facts, the last 20 years of new car sales are based on lifestyle sales, not the car. The car is a reflection of the lifestyle the moron consumer is actually buying. How many AWD subaru mommies drive on dirt roads and snow banks when dropping off Lakynn at Montessori?
