Would it be worth it to hit up any local bars to watch the game if tickets aren't available? Based on what everyone's posting, it seems like non-USM fans aren't going to get any type of priority for tickets unless you buy directly from a USM season ticket holder.

EDIT: Nearest city to find hotels where I won’t get mugged by some good ole boys?

shite I may be in the same boat as you. There’s a place called Glory Bound, that’s a restaurant/bar type of place. They’re big on their pita sandwiches and beer. They have pretty good pizza too, but I think it’s gonna be mostly college aged kids.

USM was rated at one time in the top 15 for party schools.. I imagine the bar scene around campus isn’t bad

Hattiesburg is a cool town but it's gonna get packed quick... about 60 HS aged teams coming in for showcase ball.

Y'all have fun! :)

Go to the Keg and Barrel. I went to school in Hattiesburg, not Southern Miss, and it was my go to spot.

According to the internet, USM played a game at Pete Taylor Park this season against Ole Miss with 6,346 fans in attendance.

Seems like they can pack a good bit more people into that place than the capacity indicates.

Keg and Barrel, Patio 44, Mahogany Bar, Buffalo wild Wings, Hooters and Walk-On’s will probably all have the games on. I am sure there will be other places, too. Tickets will be available. People always way overreact on here. We will be able to get tickets.

Tickets to our first game will be pretty easy. When USM is playing, tickets will be harder.

Fat Boys Pizza just opened up a place right across from campus, on 49 about a block north of Hardy.

I've been to Ed's a few times, the food is meh but probably will have the drinks flowing and the games on.

Hotels - eh. I would avoid Laurel. Parts are sketchy.

Haven't been in many years. A buddy used to have a lease near there. We'd go play golf at Canebrake and Timberton on some internet deals he'd set up back then. Beautiful courses.
