Starting to get worried about BK’s recruiting of instate guys. I mean I’m assuming LSU wants a majority of the guys in the top-10…
Just hope some of this is premature combined with O’s incompetence but it looks like a lot of guys are going to other schools
Arch does not seem to be coming to LSU
I think we sit well with Sampson
Derrick Williams is trending Bama
Curtis trending Ohio St
Ausberry: would’ve felt more safe if his brother went to LSU last cycle
Holstein committed to Bama
Miller just de-committed
We can obviously make up for this with national recruiting but, I don’t want to brush off losing instate talent as nothing

It’s a long process man. Let it play out, commitments don’t mean anything nowadays.

True. That’s all I’m hoping. National recruiting has been solid. Hopefully the big fish will land

It's a long way to go. I think Miller just wants to take a look around. Let him see what else is out there then I'm assuming he'll make the best decision for himself. But there's no place like home.

Didn’t say - respect my decision - he will be back, lots of time to get him back.Need a good product come September.

Remember too that we’re playing catch up thanks to the prior staff. BK has brought in a lot of La guys with deep connections in the communities, but they may or may not know these kids yet since most of the staff have been out of state for awhile.
The fact Omarion stayed committed this long after a staff change surprised me a little bit, since I’m sure he was recruited by Mickey or Corey. Let the kid go enjoy the process, see what else is out there, and come to the realization of what place is right for him. Hopefully that’s LSU, but regardless we’ll be fine - just trust the process.

I do not personally know the family but I have talked to people in O’s family. He is a quiet confident young man, he has faced a lot of adversity in his young life and has pushed through it. In my opinion they are taking in the recruiting process as they should, his statement was well thought out and said. As I said he is a great young man, the kind that makes good programs great.

IMO, that's no longer the issue.
LSU has a solid coach, coaching staff, facilities, educational opportunities and football culture. We need NIL money. That is the missing piece. We need as much NIL money as aTm and Texas.

The previous staff had many issues, but recruiting top instate talent was definitely not one of them.

NIL money
Miller's decommitment letter screams NIL. I mean he basically says it directly. "A lot has changed in recruiting since I committed." "Need to explore every opportunity available to me."
Can't blame the young man for wanting the freedom to check out NIL firsthand.
BTW, I know I put the above statements in quotes, but I'm just paraphrasing.

Sounds NIL related.
“I have realized that I need to know the details behind every opportunity provided to me”
“I am curious to learn about other programs and what they have to offer”
He does realize that neither schools or boosters are supposed to offer recruiting inducements, right? and they definitely can’t discuss specifics.

Recruiting staff is hand picked to lock down the state. Nothing to worry about

He put himself back on the auction block. That's all this amounts to.

He decommitted because he wants to see who can give him the most money. The days of one committing to a school because they just love and want to play for the university are over.

He will almost certainly still end up in purple and gold.

People keep saying it's nil related and maybe it is to some extent but he doesn't even have offers from Bama or ATM and most of his offers outside of lsu aren't big money schools or even p5 in some cases.
247 player page
Anyone know why he doesn't have any other big time offers besides lsu? Did Mickey Joseph just lock him in early or something? Just seems like nil wouldn't be a factor based on the other schools he has offers from currently.

Mickey Joseph was the main reason he picked LSU, and he's visiting Nebraska this weekend. Nebraska is ranked #2 for NIL. They're one school that can definitely benefit from the new rules.
