Biloxi. Some good seafood places to eat. Probably find some hotels in Gulfport or off I-10 near Biloxi. Have some free drinks at the casino.

Lot's of possibilities man. Narrow it down for what you are looking for. Driving or flying? Do you want to spend a lot or a little. City or more of a mountain/hill country trip?

Open to driving or flying just don’t want time traveling to take up too much time as it’ll only be a 3-4 day trip. Looking at 2-3k. Low key activities nothing strenuous

Do you want to leave the country?

I think you could do a curacao trip for that budget. Lots of beautiful beaches, great snorkeling. Cool island you can go anywhere on. Great food scene also.

Fly from new orleans to miami then curacao. About 5 hours + layover.

The Grand is in the style of an old southern resort. Very nice landscaped property with old trees and such around.
Nice pool and bars outside and inside.

Good golf course and tennis courts across the street.
Onsite, they have bike rentals, canoes, kayaks, the little hobie sailboats, etc all included in the hotel stay.
Fairhope is a five minute drive away and has great restaurants, etc in a neat little downtown.

I can't suggest anywhere on the beach because of course it's going to be crowded as all hell the rest of the summer.

Maybe fly to Asheville and explore the town and the eastern side of the smokeys.

In the hill country around San Antonio is supposed to be nice for a quick trio like this

Drive up to Hot Springs Ark or a bit N of there, Eureka Springs. Both were summer get away towns in the early 1900's and retain some of the historical feel. If the weather is on your side, it may be cooler there. Esp Eureka Springs ~ 1000 ft elevation. Internet lists lots of activities.

Baton Rouge flies direct to Charlotte, too, so Asheville is a surprisingly easy trip to do with no layovers and no need to drive to New Orleans. Charlotte to Asheville is only an hour.

What? From CLT to downtown Asheville is ~2hrs or a little more.

What’s wrong with either AL or Pensacola Beaches for a few days? Not far and you can either choose to party or relax on the beach.

Vegas is always an option and easy to get to.

If you want to do the beach idea go to east of Destin and stay at the Henderson Inn, water cooler Inn, or the Pearl.
