If Crews had initially been called out, would the review have overturned the call?

Difficult to say. Hard to understand how he didn't tag him in the torso area but you clearly see the tag in the crotch area after his hand touches the plate. Did it brush his jersey? I don't know but I'm glad they called him safe not that we wouldn't have won anyway.

It was confirmed. So yes, obviously. There was no question he was safe according to the umps

None of the replays were in as good of a position nor had the proper angle as the Home Plate Ump. So its a tossup BUT they’d likely (99%) have let the call on the field stand.

That said Crews was safe, the Catcher didn't make the tag initially until Crews was touching home plate.

No. That was the best video of a close play I’ve seen in a while. Showed the fingers across the plate before the tag.

Depends on if they meant confirmed or just used the word without thinking about the difference in stands and confirmed

I believe I see Crews flex his chest muscles to avoid the tag, thus making his own jersey ruffle as the glove misses him.

Everyone is focusing on this angle…

And ignoring this one…

He’s clearly safe. There is plenty of space between the glove and his jersey/body.

Yes, the confirmed the correct call was made. They didn’t just leave the call because it wasn’t clear enough.

Crews was safe; the replay clearly shows this from multiple angles.

The damn ump needed to clean off home plate all night.

NO! That play was as close as you could get at the plate.
I'm surprised ump didn't call him out. He must not have liked the Kentucky catcher too much.... I'm sure they didn't have a lot to talk about rest of game after that play. LOL

Not sure about the review but the ump had the best view of the play. He was standing right over Crews when he made the call.
