LSU hosting Tennessee October 8th

I’m excited for this one. Due to the current stupid SEC scheduling model, we only face them once every 5 years and only host them once every 10 years.
Vols lead the all time series 20-10 with LSU winning the last 5. The matchup should be big for both sides. I hope they bring a lot of visiting fans.I love when we host a traditional SEC team and fan base that we rarely see. Not looking forward to hearing rocky top played on repeat.
Circling back, this is the perfect example of why 8 conference games sucks! I want more games vs Georgia and Tennessee.

Since 1960 LSU leads 9-8-2. Really odd series.

Tennessee is still in the historical Top 10 for program victories after sucking for a generation.
4 to 6 Nattys (depending on who's counting) and 13 SEC Championships
That goddam "Rocky Top" song over and over and over and over at home sucks.

Don't invite their band to our stadium = No more Rocky Top

We aren’t Texas. We do things with class and welcome our visitors the right way.

This.
You could argue that Tennessee was second to only Alabama in the SEC hierarchy for much of the conference's history. That's why when people bitch about the inequity of Alabama getting to play Tennessee every year while LSU plays Florida, I say blame Tennessee for suddenly turning to shite at the same time Alabama returned to dominance. LSU's been good for the last 20 years. Alabama has been great for the last 20 years. Florida has been good for the last 20 years. It's Tennessee's sorry asses that have dropped the ball.

Hopefully our transfer CBs are in a groove by then or Heupel is going to throw it over our heads all night

LSU leads 7-2 since 2000. One was that game in 2001 where Kelley Washington went off, and we avenged it the SECCG later that year, the other was that incomprehensible choke on Monday night in 2005 after being up 21-0 at half and 24-7 in the 4th.

LSU also “won” in 2010 by the extra play, won in 2006 with Russell in the last 20 secs with Tennessee playing a backup QB. These games historically have been pretty wild outcomes except for the past years when LSU sucked with Curly, Stovall & Archer & when Tenn sucked with Dooley & Jones.

Yes was at all those; we went through a long stretch from like 30's - 90's that seemed we could not beat them except 74 ( my freshman year but really blurry) and 88 and a few T's then it turned after the 05 debacle!

Thankfully T-Bob had his head in the game and was watching the clock while Miles and Jefferson were nattering about. Jesus that game had some weird shite towards the end.

Rare game to experience the agony of defeat & thrill of victory within mere moments.
Also never been so pissed off after a win before.

We won convincingly in 2017 but do y’all remember it was raining sideways? Coach O’s interview in the tunnel before going back out after halftime was classic Orgeron.
It’s one of my favorite O moments.
