Family Worship Center has a black pastor, Carl Brown, but is a predominantly white congregation. Healing Place has is about 2/3 white.

I'm a single black man who is looking for a wife. I prefer black women. Hence the diverse congregation.

Brother over here just looking for a church that isn’t all black but where he doesn’t have to be the only black dude either. Not an unreasonable question, hope you get some answers.

As for women, just hit up tinder baw

Might try Light Tabernacle in Central. Pastor Tony Spell. Hear he stands up to government overreach.

Dadgum. Small world. I was a deacon there and knew Gary pretty well. I came in the last 10 years of his pastorship so not as well as longtime members.

Sad sad passing. I was really sad he passed before the 2019 season. Buried in his LSU shirt if I remember correctly.

All of that, and no qualifier for doctrine?

Anti woke and pro life is fairly indicative of the doctrine he’s aiming for.

Jimmy swaggert is a mixed church and very pro life and back trump. So that’s where I would go his son Donnie is a good preacher and super conservative. The music is by far the BEST in Baton Rouge.

How old are you? I haven’t been living in BR in a long time, but when I was we went to St. Aloysius. You may have to wait for the divorces at that church though Not a lot of single women unless things have changed.

Churches with a political agenda likely get money for influencing their people.

It happens on the local level. Local officials running for office set up the date. On that Sunday 30 mins before service starts you pull up to the back, hand the preacher a envelop, go back and park with the congregation (so you can talk with people as they go in), go to the service and wait until the preacher tells his people that they are in presence of a good god fearing man who fights for their best interest (states whatever the issues are at the time).

Early in the service the preacher will give a 5 min spiel telling everyone how blessed they are to be in the presence of a good god fearing man along with other bullshite. Encourages them to go early vote, but on election day everyone remind each other to get to the polls if they didn't go early vote, etc, etc.

Honestly, you have to be a retard to go to a church that has a political agenda.

You just criticized just about every black church in town bud. I'm sure by accident but it is funny nonetheless

Wrong again, dickless wonder. I don’t go to church.

By default the Bible aligns more closely with the right. So unless you reject the teachings of the Bible which many modern churches have done, you are being politically influenced.

Actually, either way you are.

I think Fr Josh Johnson is at Christ the King. If you’ve never heard him, he’s really entertaining and engaging. He’s the only black catholic priest that I know of and he’s really popular. He might bring in some ladies you’d like

Fr. Josh has just been assigned to Sacred Heart, which in all honesty is probably the type of congregation the OP is probably looking for.

His first mass will be the weekend of July 2-3.

I am confused on all the different kind of churches.

This is from a Protestant perspective:
The church that Christ founded began in the 1st century and still exists. It includes all that profess faith in him.

That church officially took the name of Roman Catholicism in 382 AD.
In 1054 AD the Eastern half of the church broke off but insisted that it was the original church. They have a good argument. It is the Eastern Orthodox Church.

In 1521 Martin Luther was excommunicated from the Roman Catholic Church though he believed he was believing and acting in accordance with the original 1st century church. Lutheranism was born. Anglicanism (1534) and Presbyterianism (1560) soon followed.

The Baptists didn't get truly established until 1689.

Baptists are a vibrant Protestant denomination (unfortunately). That's why I kind of laughed at your comment. Sorry.

Wasn’t Anglicanism eradicated during the Catholic inquisition?
