I know there is a Bourbon/Whiskey/Scotch Topic Thread, and i love bourbon but it really is a Bourbon Forum Thread.

I would like to invite Scotch fans and even Irish Whiskey fans a place to go where we are not lost in the Bourbon.

So to start, what is your go to Scotch or Irish or both?

Not much of a Scotch drinker, but Powers gold label is the Irish whiskey I usually have on hand.

Green Spot/Yellow Spot are of course great as well

What is Welsh whiskey like? Is it similar to either Scotch or Irish?

Glenmorangie is hard to beat for the price.
Macallan is always smooth.
Lagavulin is great for when you want something really peaty.
Bunnahabhain is probably my favorite Isla.
Laphroaig is a good buy too. The basic 10 year will do fine.
Nothing wrong with Balvenie Double wood.

It's Whisky, unless you're from Ireland, then it's Whiskey and Scotch if you're American.

Finally a thread for real Whisky.

I keep a bottle of Glenmorangie 10 as my daily. When it’s a available I’ll try to have Bruchladdich 10, The Classic Laddie, which is an unpeated Islay. Glenmorangie Nectar D’Or is a fantastic as well.

For Irish, Teeling is my favorite but Yellow Spot and Middleton are also good.

My daily is Famous Grouse. Great stuff for the price point. Also loving that Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban mentioned above. My favorite is probably a 14 yr Arran. Also a big fan of the 14 yr Glenfiddich

Killer and underrated. Recently I've been turned on to Glengoyne 10, and it has become my other go to along with Craig 13

There's probably about 30-40% scotch posts in there. A lot of us have been posting about scotch in there

What did you try? My first scotch was Laphroig and although I have come around to it, it can certainly turn most people off if they started with Islay.

Maybe so, but looking at the last five pages there are:
Bourbon posts 47
Scotch 1
Irish 1
Rum 2

pretty standard for that group about 90-95% bourbon posts.
