I 'am sure most on here have used clarified butter. This brand is perfect to me. Nutty/salty/smooth. Anyway, been using it for a few weeks now and it really changes the flavor of eggs over easy, toast, grilled cheese, and just a good old ham and cheese sandwich. I guess more than anything else, it is just something different. Give it a try, I think you will like it.

I buy it at Costco. But it’s unsalted. Use it for most of my cooking. I still keep salted butter for toast and such.

I use it for hash browns and sometimes finishing steaks when I want to be fancy and preheat the plates so I can serve them sizzling.

Just the smell of it grosses me out. I don’t find any reason to use it.

It’s butter. But cleaner. Does the smell of butter gross you out?

Cheaper and a hell of a lot easier to buy. But if you have the time and money… I used to process my own too but a couple big arse jars are cheap and last forever.

I don’t know where you’re shopping but in my experience ghee is pretty pricey. It’s easy enough to make yourself. I’ve purchased it in a jar before and it certainly wasn’t cheap.

I prefer regular old butter for most things
I have little reason to use clarified butter except for hollandaise or something

No. Because it’s not butter. If it was butter it wouldn’t be ghee. Not hard to understand.

It’s just clarified butter.

It’s great for pan frying or cooking in general.

It doesn’t smell or taste like butter to me. Has some sort of fermented smell maybe?

It has sort of nutty butter taste to me. I wonder if you had some that was bad?

We’ve got two jars of it. I will give them another sniff.
Since I’m supposed to like it.
