This Christmas, I'm looking to take my family - 9 people- to Vail. Has anyone here done this before? Looking for advice on where to stay in Vail, that can accommodate 9 people.

In a house. Preferably with a hot tub.

How is paying for the accommodations working? Are there multiple adults who will chip in? Or are you footing for a big vacation?

Here's an Air BnB I found with a quick search.

It's got 9 beds and a hot tub.

Only $1,300 a night

Thanks, but I'm trying to avoid Air BnB and VRBO. Was looking for a ski resort. I'm not cooking shite

I've done one of the Four Seasons Residencies for 2 nights before, and some of those can sleep up to 9 adults in multiple rooms within the suite. They're pricy though. My suggestion would be to find a nice AirBnB in Minturn or Copper and driving into Vail. The traffic once you're off the pass is no issue, so you'd be able to zip in and out.

If you're looking to really splurge, there are a lot of hotels right by Vail Village that you could get multiple rooms.

Beaver Creek is only 10min up the interstate and has it's own Vail-like vibe to it. Might be more affordable BnB or hotel options there.

Vail has a terrific and free bus system. For a group that size, I would look to rent a condo or town home along the lionsridge loop bus line. The bus runs every hour and takes you right to the vail transportation center in town. The only down side is having the carry ski gear to and from each day but you can rent lockers right next to the gondola to address that issue.

Being on the bus line is key.

This is an excellent point and one that's usually overlooked

Four Seasons Vail
Ritz Carlton Lionshead
Ritz Carlton Bacheler Gulch
Park Hyatt Beaver Creek

RC BG is isolated but man it is nice.
All are extremely nice, FS Vail is the only one in Vail proper. Lionshead is very close and the other 2 15min drive.

Only problem with Copper is being on the wrong side of the pass. It'll close if a good storm comes through.

Minturn though would be legit. Lots of nice places to eat, bars, and not that far from Vail. Plus, dont have to cross the higher terrain to get between either.

Lion Square Lodge may be an option, I stayed at The Lodge at Vail with 7 people last Mardi Gras. Christmas is very expensive at Vail. If you are staying at a property I would expect to pay between $3,000-$5,000 a night for a room/suite that could hold 9 people during Xmas.

Keep in mind Vail is an international travel spot and during Christmas it gets crowed and prices for everything spikes, including lift tickets.
