Why does LSU lose players like this all the time?

Mcmanus's bat outweighs Milazzo's defense imo

Yup. LSU’s the only team to lose players to injuries. Ugh.

An unreliable source told me he was looking at a medical redshirt and won't return.

If the last 3 weeks McManus can stick around I can agree with this.

Including the ULL game, since then (10 games) he's 13 for 35 with 2 doubles, 1 triple, 5 home runs, 4 walks, 1 HBP, with 11 RBI.

That's .371 AVG, .514 OBP, .914 SLG, 1.428 OPS

The only negative outside of the questionable defensive catching has been striking out 11 times in 42 PA

McManus in games he’s actually started, has been one of the teams better hitters

Milazzo can come in late in the game, fine

The offensive output that McManus brings is way better than Milazzos. Milazzo is significantly better defensively though and this will show up when we play a team that likes to run. Hasn’t been much of an issue so far but could in post season play.

Very glad he hit a bomb Friday night, because if not, his pass balls would make it a very different story.

He was horrendous behind the plate on Saturday. It won't show up in the box score, and the laymen probably didn't notice it, but he took alot of strikes away from Money and Taylor. It looked like he couldn't see for 3-4 innings. Alot of people want to point to Milazzo for controlling the running game, but it's way more than that. In fact, the pitchers have done a pretty good job of controlling the running game without Milazzo. Milazzo doesn't take strikes away, steals some strikes, and can be counted on not to give up lazy wild pitches/passed balls.

He is a terrible receiver of the ball. At least thats how it looks. Could be a result of the pitcher badly missing spots and signs though as well. Probably a little of both.

Sounds like it, they tried to bring him back too soon and had a huge setback that was worse than the original injury.

You do know Florida, Arkansas, Tennessee and Miss St has lost Friday night or Saturday starters to season ending injuries, right?

Tennessee did not lose a weekend starter to a season ending injury.

Tenn lost their #1 pitcher as season was beginning.

And he's been starting games since he came back. So it wasn't season ending.
