Trae on top five is laughable. He can’t handle the physicality of the playoffs.

1. Curry
2. Luka
3. Healthy Dame
4. Ja
5. CP3
CP3 gets the edge over Kyrie because of what he does to a team. 14/14...frick

I like Garland but he’s a bit of a reach for the top 5 convo to say the least

Define PG
is it the guy with the PG next to his name?
is it the guy that's short?
Jokic is more of a PG than Kyrie
Draymond averaged more assists this year than Curry.
CP3 is probably the only true pure PG left in the league. There's no one that plays the game like he does currently, but there were many that played the game similar to him before him. Hell i'd say Lebron and Harden are more of a true PG than someone like Morant.
The PG position has morphed into basically the best player on the team, as all of the offense flows through them.

he made the conference finals last year and then led the entire league in points and assists this year

such a weasel way of stating this stat here, and it's not the first time i've heard it, yet the other time i heard it, it was said in a similar way, which is rather misleading.
If we are talking about total points and assists, then yes he did, b/c he played more games than others.
But when have we ever talked about nba stats in that way? This isn't baseball where you try to hit 50hrs, or football where you try to throw for 5,000 yards. We use averages in basketball, always have.
The only time we ever use totals is when talking about career stats.
Did Trae win the scoring title? Nope, he finished 6th.
Did Trae with the assist title? Nope. he finished 3rd.

Shouldn't we reward players who play more games, rather than less. What's misleading about that.

He averaged 29 points and 10 assists. He's easily top 5 for his position.

He’s a good player but you forgot the part where he had 303 turnovers this year as well which led league btw...
In other words I’m saying if he is top 5 he’s definitely 5th.
Luka, CP3, Ja, Steph all better imo...

Atlanta’s offense was better than all of those other teams offense.
Number 2 in the league.
The turnover are high because he has the ball all the time.
Atlanta offense had the #1 TO % in the nba.
That is because of trae. He has a better turnover % than ALL of those guys. Save for Ja. The rest all turn it over more on a per possession basis.

Reward? Sure if you want to consider games played when handing out rewards that's fine. But if you're having a discussion as to which players are "better", averages make more sense to use than totals (unless you are referring to a player who only played like 20 games or something).
