Houston sports radio used to have ads for a company all the time. They put in a near pro caliber goal (if ads are to be believed) Adjustable height, quality backboard etc.

Lil' Alum is enjoying basketball. /he is already ahead of many kids his age. Dribbles with both hands, not staring at the ball.

Just wondering what a ballpark price would be.

He is bouncing around the house as I type this. It is the first non-Gamer thing he really lights up for. We have done baseball and he had fun, but mainly just fun playing catch with me.

Football interests him, but I think his first real contact drills will cure him of football. He doesn't quite realize how many positions are on the field that are never supposed to touch the ball.

Thanks in advance. Price of a quality goal installed.

For a kid his age probably just get something cheap by the driveway. A really good basketball goal can run you thousands. May want to hold your horses for now.

Already have that one. It is a crooked mess due to SETX heat and thousands of awful shots that are slowly getting better.

1500 to 2000 installed

We bought a goalsetter about 5 years ago and installed it ourselves so it was closer to 1000...we have definitely got our money worth...went through 2 "portable" ones that cost about 200 to 300 each ..when we bought ours the kids were young, but when I would call our chat trying to figure out which one I needed, I would tell them I had HS kids and the sole reason we were getting a nicer one was so they could dunk and hang on the rim

Megaslam 60, self installed. It's overkill but it's awesome. Never buying another basketball goal again.

A 72” Backboard goal will clip you around $2,000. A 60” will clip you around $800-$1,200. A legit NBA goal is around $10,000. I personally bought a 60” Silverback at Academy for $999 and have zero complaints.

I met the owner of Mega Slam Hoops. Very nice guy. They are doing extremely well.

Anyone have suggestions on how to remove a stuck pin the adjustable goals? Bought a house that had a hoop but the pin is rusted tight. I even tried hitting it with a sledge hammer to loosen it but it didn’t work.

Point guard and QB are fairly natural cross training sports, do you throw the football with him?

pony up 2k (plus installation) or so for a goalrilla. it will be one of the best purchases you ever make and your son will thank you for decades.

We got a glass one from Academy probably 12 years ago for around 500. We out it in ourselves and did the whole cement in the pole add all of that. It has been great lasted 3 boys and a tree grazing it from Ida. Still works great

That's what I put up after a couple failed Walmart goals. It seems to be a good goal and is surviving small balls monster jams just fine

I'd probably go with Goalrilla if I ever got one.

Options start from $500 and go all the way to $3,600.

Put in a goalrilla at school. Put in mega slam at home. Compare the prices, if close enough to you, the megaslam is much more robust in design and build.

Dominator is the best goal on the market. Looks good and the easiest to raise and lower, so easy a 5 year old can do it.
