Crazy to think the former 1-12 Pelicans would have such an impact on me. This season was such a fun ride and I had something to look forward to watching every other day.

I have so much time at night now that the season is over, but nothing seems to excite me like the past couple months.

I am going to need every bit of news to get me through the offseason. Inject into my veins all the offseason workout videos and interviews!

The Saints will hopefully fill that void for awhile.

But June will be ROUGH

Study up on the draft. This is one of my favorite times of the year.

I've been a diehard Pelicans/Saints/LSU fan since I was born. This is the first time I can honestly say I'm more excited for the Pelicans than the Saints/LSU. We have something SPECIAL.

I was working out at the LSU UREC when we somehow landed the #1 pick in the lottery. I am thinking I should try and recreate the magic for this lottery haha.

This will probably be the most boring offseason in recent memory and that is going to be wonderful! Exciting offseasons usually means the team is not in good shape so you make a bunch of moves hoping they work out, but most of the time they don't which leads to more exciting offseasons in the future. I would be happy to have boring offseasons for the next 5-10 years.

I mean if you are a fan of the sport in general there is a lot of great basketball being played right now. The lack of any true super teams have honesty made this the most exciting couple of seasons of the NBA in some time for me.

While I lean one way or the other in all the series, I could see any of the remaining teams winning their respective series(maybe not Grizz beating Warriors), which is not something I could say most seasons over the last 2 decades.

Boring offseason is good for this team right now. It means continuity. Much needed. Besides you guys have the lottery and draft to look forward to. And summer league with the top 10 pick. Not too shabby.

Absolutely I still love the playoffs, but it is of course much more fun with a team you're invested in. That being said, I'm rooting for the small market teams (besides Grizz).

I'd say the top 10 pick is also pretty interesting cause there is so much variability right now.

Plus we have the slight chance of a top 4 pick, and things would get super interesting if that happens.

there are only a few imminent decisions to make:

the 1st round draft pick obviously
2023 team options for lewis & murphy by 10/31

the can but do not have to offer rookie extensions to zion and hayes after the league year starts

they'll carry snell's UFA cap hold until they need to renounce. assuming they'll be well over the cap but below the tax, they'll have the full NT MLE ($10.2MM) and the BAE ($4MM), and a couple of TPE's

Only 15 days until the lottery - you can go over to Tankathon and keep spinning the wheel until we get the #1 overall pick

Just over 2 weeks to the draft lottery we will get a better feel when we know the outcome of this.

Assuming we have serious interest in Chet and we DON'T get tremendously lucky with a ping pong ball to put us in position to take him, this could STILL be a VERY intriguing draft situation for the Pels.

Chet is definitely a unicorn...and as such, I could totally understand if certain teams who happened to end up in a position to draft Chet, might rightfully think he just doesn't fit with their current roster or is just too big a risk to take...AND...they might think they could come out better by working out a deal with another team that might place a higher value on Chet. This could very easily happen and if it does, and the Pels think highly of Chet...anything can happen.

Every team can use a Jabari Smith or a Paolo...not EVERYBODY could find as much assumed value, in a Chet. Could get interesting for sure, even if we end up with 8th pick as trade bait & whatever else is needed. And I don't even wanna THINK... about all the wheelin' & dealin' that might go on...if we land the 3rd or 4th pick with those crazy ping pong balls. There's more to this draft than the ping pong balls...when an odd player like Chet is involved. So, start preparing your trade offers...just in case.

I still do not understand the love affair half the board has with a 7ft tall twig.

But to answer the question, yes it freaking sucks thinking about not watching the guys for 6 months. I guess I’ll drag the Xbox out the closet and dominate some 2k with a CJ, BI, Trey, Herb, Zion line up.
