Parents of the OT, what’s the weirdest interaction you’ve ever had with another parent?

We’re planning a midday birthday pool party for our 9 year old daughter. The mother of one of the girls my daughter invited (who we’ve met twice) texted my wife to see if we would keep their daughter overnight.
My wife politely declined. Who tf just randomly asks people who might as well be strangers to keep their daughter overnight with no invitation or history of spend the night sleepovers? We barely know these people and the party would have ended at 4pm at the latest. Completely ridiculous ask.
Whatcha got, OT?

This is the parent equivalent of "you miss 100% of the shots you don't take"

You’re gonna deny the poor mother a chance at a coke bender? You’re heartless.

No kidding, I wonder how many nights of free babysitting they’ve gotten by simply asking.

After that ask, I wouldn’t let my 9 year old daughter over to their house unless My wife or I were there….
Also, was it more of asking about a potential sleepover or was it like “hey, do you mind if my kid stays the night after the party?”

One of my kids friends older sister, maybe 13 at the time, told her mom to F off in front of a group of parents. And neither parent did anything.
Made for a good learning moment for my kids on the way home.

It was “do you mind keeping her for the night?”

POS got in my face after a U7 soccer game; telling me to teach my daughter some manners, calling her a dirty player and a danger to others.
He was talking about another person’s daughter and thought I was the father because she was standing next to me with my daughter.

Parents of a kid in my son's class are liberal nut jobs. They wouldn't let their son attend another kid's party at a paint ball place because it was too violent...

FOUND a kid, he was three or four, at a local playground sitting on a piece of playground equipment all by himself. No one else around. Nearest adults were 200 yards away across a major street at a soccer field. Picked the kid up and was on the phone with the police when a car came speeding up to the curb. Screeched to a halt and a lady jumped out, stormed up to me and snatched the kid out of my arms, jumped back in her car and took off. Didn't say a word to me. Didn't thank me. Nothing. Very weird.

My best OT response that would get 100 downvotes:
“Baw, I was gonna play bull with this woman while the dad watched. Now they don’t have a babysitter”

Should have replied “kid no but you yes”

Also adding my story.
Watched a coke truck go full air brakes to avoid hitting a toddler in the street. Thank goodness he was able to stop. I jumped out of my truck and picked the kid up to get him out of the street. Mom walks out on the porch talking on the phone like nothing happened, takes the kid from me and walks back inside. Never says a word.
He had no idea he almost died and he had no idea who I was. He and I were two different races and it that moment none of it mattered. I had this kids undivided attention and he had a huge smile on his face. I was scared shitless.

Daughter has a friend who’s the youngest of 4 and her closest sibling is 8 years older than she is. So her parents are I guess kind of CB decked out in parenting. She will come over on Friday night and we won’t hear from her parents until Sunday afternoon. No plan tk spend all weekend with us or asking if it’s okay. She’s a good kid and easygoing so we don’t really care, but it’s just weird.

One of my 10 y/o son's friends had a dad who collected guns, I have guns too, broken down and locked up. My son comes home one day complaining that his ears hurt and are ringing.
It took some questioning, but he and his buddy took some of his dad's guns and were firing them. I go to see the dad, none of the guns are locked up, boxes of ammo are laying around, dad thinks this is fine, "boys need to learn about guns". No safety training, no supervision.
I was unable to convince him that he was begging for trouble, he said I was an anti-gun loony. My son had to find a new friend.
