If you are a boudin purist snob, what are your thoughts on Quebedeauxs in Pineville?

100% correct. I got some on a drive home from Houston and it had very little flavor, tasted watery

Maybe to someone born in Michigan or New York City I found it more bland than any other boudin

Amazed how expensive it was a few months ago when I came through town on my way back home from Mardi Gras. It cost me over $100 to fill an ice chest. It way better than anything I can get in DFW but the egg rolls were over $2 each. A 5 pack of boudin balls was almost $18. I had my heart set on them to have in freezer. Probably won’t even stop next time. Get some local stuff in Baton Rouge before I leave town.

The Billy's behind the train museum in Opelousas was really good back in the 90s...I would always go with my grandpa when he'd meet my parents halfway from BR for me to go spend the summers in Pineville. I think he sold his recipe around 2000 and it was never the same. Too much rice from the new guy

No boudin east of the Atchafalaya is better. Don’t care what argument you make.

They opened a spot in Gonzales too, pretty sure it’s a license to print money with all the sales reps headed to plants.

I like Bergeron’s cracklins and boudin balls. Their regular boudin is OK. not great, not terrible IMO.

That building was the original Ray’s Boudin. Billy bought the bldg from Mr Ray Hidalgo in the early 90’s. Billy originally sold 2 types of boudin … Billy’s (spicy) or Ray’s (not as spicy). After several years Billy got rid of Ray’s boudin recipe and strictly sold his own.

After selling the bldg, Mr Ray moved his business location to Hwy 182 just outside of Opelousas heading towards Sunset. It’s still open today if you’re passing through the area. My wife is from Opelousas and Rays is her favorite boudin.

We average 2 platters a week delivered to work

Their boudin is pretty decent, but Herbert's in Dtown is the best around there.
