The real trick in these are the optics. There are videos on YouTube. They are insanely impressive. How they stand up in the field, anyone knows.
But I saw someone say that the ACOG was questioned when it started seeing widespread issue, but that after it did, the infantry success jumped exponentially overnight.

Waste of money. Something like 200k small arms rounds are fired for every enemy combatant killed
Typical government

There’s 2 frickers dead in hell and 1 jacking off with his non-dominant hand in Kinosha, WI, that would beg to differ with you.

Could mean an enormous surplus of 223/556 for us over the next several years. Maybe.
223/556 is a good round and allowed us to carry a shite ton of it in combat. Was happy to have 500 rounds of 556 compared to only 150-200 of 762.
6.8 is a good compromise. Wish 6.5 creedmoor would have won out. Another good round.
And Sig is an outstanding American manufacturer.

Probably due to the fact most ENY KIA are a result of crew served weapons like the M2 .50 Cal and the Mk-19 (40MM), plus mortars, arty, JDAMs, Hellfires, etc.
Small arms are "just in case" and to keep the ENY's heads down.
/anecdotal not data
not meant to offend light guys that think they are a warrior with their M4.

Was there really a need for an intermediate cartridge halfway between 7mm-08 and 6.5 Creedmoor?
Yes, read more on the 277 Fury and you will understand. It will be the most accurate and lethal round….coming out hot at 80,000 fps.

I bet if you took a 75gr Hornady black round in the chest at 300 meters you wouldn’t be posting any longer.

It's all about the specific two-piece case design. You can push the bullets out of shorter barrels with insane velocities. It's a pretty cool design that has neat applications in hunting too.
He gets it!

The Army announced Tuesday that it selected Sig Sauer to manufacture and deliver a 6.8 mm Next Generation Squad Weapon to replace the M4 carbine and M249 Squad Automatic Weapon, which both fire the 5.56 mm round.
So in a civilian uprising they could not use government ammo . The government would be 10x better supplied. Civilian stockpiles of 5.56 and .223 would dry up as ammo plants would fall under government control.
It's clear as day here baws...

Got tons of training with the XM5 in Call of Duty.
Maybe I’ll go volunteer for Ukraine.

If I read one of the articles correctly, the 6.8mm military variant has up to 80,000 psi. The .277 civilian version isn’t as hot. Still probably well north of 60,000, but not as hot as the military’s. I wonder if they’ll eventually sell a civilian 6.8? Doubt it will be anytime soon. They’ll keep the civilian version unable to safely fire the 6.8mm yet the military version will fire both. Similar to the early days of 223 only.
Wylde needs to immediately design a .277 that will chamber and fire the 6.8.

No. Up to 80,000 psi pressure. You’re about 77,000 fps high.

Their higher end optics are pretty good. Most of their budget stuff is Chinese shite.
They innovate which I give high marks but wish they would cut down some of the bling stuff they put out.
One of the finest guns I own is a Sig X5 tactical 226 SAO. It’s a masterworks gun that came out of Germany before they banned exports.
