So you are sitting with friends and talking food. Someone asks what are the less dire able qualities of various cuisines?
What are your opinions?
Some of mine to start:

Tex-Mex: desserts other than tres leches
German-not very diverse
British-too many to name
Japanese-not a good choice if looking for some heat

French, Italian, Indian, Thai, Chinese, Cajun, Creole, Korean, Vietnamese and others…..

Huh? Some of the most famous German dishes have middle eastern influence. Plus they take elements from ethnic groups all over Eastern Europe and the Balkans

I’m in for the discussion. I’m only going by the few German restaurants I’ve been to.
I’ve never once said, ”dang I’d love to get German tonight.”

I took it as suggesting there's not a great number of different German dishes compared to other cuisines - not as a sort of ethnic point.

Whether that's legitimately true or not, may be a different discussion, but I think I can see how that would be a perception based on what one sees as German food in this country.

The only thing i ate in germany was sammiches and fried meat. It was very, very bland. Luckily i was drunk the whole week so i didn't care.

Doner, currywurst, warm spices like cardamom are used in lots of German desserts, pickled seafood from the Nords and Dutch, cheese culture from the French/Swiss. I mean I guess it’s not the most diverse European cuisine but it certainly has lots of outside influence and it only continues to evolve as german demographics shift

Well the best part about German cuisine is that it's expected to be eaten with at least one liter of beer to wash it down.

Italian- bland, uninteresting
Mexican- it all tastes the same, rarely good, never something I’d ever crave
Cajun/Creole- inedible outside of Lousiana

I'm guessing you've never been to Italy and are basing this on the Olive Garden and Carrabba's

Mexican: Sausage game is weak; chorizo is a greasy mess.

Regarding your typical Tex-Mex restaurants, the meals are usually all prepared very similar. You generally know what you are getting at each place.

The higher end mexican places generally throw you some curveballs in a good way.

With all this said, I still like the standard Mexican cuisine.

Jesus Christ. There are several people in this thread who need to be chemically castrated.
