re: When did LSU quit asking people to stand for the National Anthem?

I used to be perturbed at events when much of the crowd spent the anthem with caps on, yacking with buddies, getting a dip, etc. But the kneeling black athletes knocked the patriotism back into many of those folks. Now they salute like Gomer Pyle.

Like Republicans and our last Republican President whose motto was implying this country sucks?
When y’all stupid mutherfrickers gonna realize just cause someone has different opinions than you doesn’t make them less patriotic?
This ain’t fricking North Korea. If someone doesn’t like something about this country they are free to express that.

Wouldn’t it be more commie like to force everyone to all stand together and behave the exact same way like a fricking cult for this song?
In my view this is confusing categories. I don't think anyone is suggesting that security should escort a fan out because they declined to stand for the national anthem or sing or remove their hat and on.
The point is 'what should LSU policy be w.r.t. the National Anthem at sporting events?' Whatever is done makes a statement one way or another.

Not all opinions are morally equivalent. However, they all do express some transcendent world view. As far as I know it's globally and historically considered ignoble for children to dishonor the mother who bore them, birthed them, and sacrificed for them.

"You can stand if you want'....it's a free country but you SHOULD WANT to stand and be proud. You are Either lazy or a Communist IMO.

You hit it on the head! Whatever happened to “I respect your beliefs but I don’t share them”? Why is that so hard?

And soon, they won't even bother with playing it.

It just feels like both sides are now “it’s my way or you can die in a fire”. No end in sight either.
It's the logical conclusion of one side calling the other racist non-stop for over two decades at this point.

OP is upset that the PA announcer didn’t tell people what to do such that it matched OP’s personal preference. OP is free to shout at people to stand up, if he would like.

I didn't serve 24 years in the Marines just so people can stand for the anthem. What I did do is fight and defend the CONSTITUTION of the United States of America, which grants it's citizens the RIGHTS to stand or don't stand.

LOL at the idea of LSU offering reduced ticket prices for anyone in Tiger Stadium.

We can only hope. One less step before the game starts.

Stand, sit, be mad about people sitting, be mad about people standing. Be mad about people not asking other people to stand. Do whatever you want. It’s a free country.
But don’t expect it to be a law. You can’t force people to worship anything. And don’t expect people to listen to you or care. Because that’s the same courtesy you give. Freedom is a wonderful thing,

OP is always angry about something. He has a old man hard on for LSU because they allow the superfan champ to steal all the tv behind home plate which runs his experience.

If you’re so offended and hate that people don’t/won’t stand, you leave.
