Musk is offering to “acquire all of the outstanding Common Stock of the Issuer not owned by the Reporting Person for all cash consideration valuing the Common Stock at $54.20 per share.” The proposal was delivered in a letter to Twitter on April 13th. Musk says Twitter needs to go private to go through the changes that need to be made.

What’s going to be funnier is if they don’t sell to him, he tanks the stock, and then starts a rival version of Twitter.
Either way, I’m more than happy to see the panic at Twitter HQ.

“I invested in Twitter as I believe in its potential to be the platform for free speech around the globe, and I believe free speech is a societal imperative for a functioning democracy,” Mr. Musk said in the letter to Mr. Taylor sent on April 13.
“However, since making my investment I now realize the company will neither thrive nor serve this societal imperative in its current form,” he wrote. “Twitter needs to be transformed as a private company.”

He’s openly stated that Twitter doesn’t currently support free speech and their censorship is driving his decision. If they gave Nobel Peace prizes to non-progressives, he might have gotten one if he could transform Twitter into a free speech platform.

I hope the total comes out to $42.0B

I can’t wait to read Babylon Bee and Trump posts on Twitter from the UI screen of my new Tesla pickup truck.

They have a fiduciary duty to shareholders that they’d be ignoring if they told Musk to pound sand. Don’t think they do that.

Musk is the only person in the world with $42 billion in cash that would do this. So glad he exists.
