agree 100% but if they can’t fix the criminal elements that surround the campus LSU is in trouble as I know dozens of LSU alums, my wife and I included that would not let their kids even look at LSU for that fact alone. We all know what really happened to the many of the “missing students” each semester.

And if they don’t fix this traffic situation, Tiger stadium is going to be where dreams of a greatest college atmosphere go to die. (This ones not even that damn hard. Let’s find a 30-50 acre field along a damn train track and build a garage to hold 50k cars and run a tram or something, buses etc, and don’t start them back until after the game is over )

All of this is very true.

Our rivals now have another weapon to combat this. NIL money.

Families often move from Louisiana, but keep the culture near to their hearts.

As a dad that wants to move his kids out of Louisiana so they can start and raise their families outside a third world country. This resonates with me perfectly. I’ll bring every Louisiana culture with me. The food, LSU, Saints, outdoors, and simple weekend gatherings. Friends that visit from other places are blown away that I can have 15 people at my house on a Friday night for absolutely no reason. I will forever miss it but it’s gone as a nice, safe place to live. It’s literally a Warzone, with horrible education, job growth and political regime. My kids and grandkids deserve better and will get a better opportunity and quality of life. It saddens me so much as I type this but the decision has been made.

I agree with others that this is what it used to be but things are changing fast. It's not just happening to LSU, it is happening all over college sports. You wait and see, it will even hit Alabama.

I loved that Bit about LSU, with SVP but you know what makes it ominous is that right after they (SVP & Ryan) start talking about ND and BK making their run to the CFP—- who knew LSU would field the GOAT College Football Team 7 yrs later with of All coaches O and 10 yrs later that BK would leave ND and trying to rebuild LSU back to glory from Os debacle. Crazy World, someone should sell tickets, Hell I’d buy one!!!

While I would say this is a nice sentiment and ego pumper for us, I DISTINCTLY remember as a young man watching the game roster announcements on CBS and reading off EVERY SINGLE player and his "hometown, LA" byline and being so damn proud that the coach recruited every single player starting the games was FROM LOUISIANA. From LA - not like those heathens at UF or BAMA that had kids from GA and TN and whatnot.

Those games and that coach? Curly Hallman.

Beware what you ask for...

TLDR: Players born and raised in LA want to play for LSU from birth.

This simply isn't true. Look at all of the top recruits from the past decade who have gone to other states. Look back to the 90s and all of the guys who went to ND, FSU, Miami, Michigan, etc. There's a really big population in Louisiana that hates LSU or is totally indifferent -- go drive through the 7th ward or Scotlandville and see how many people are wearing Alabama gear.

The 4 and 5 star kids we're recruiting largely have no emotional connection to LSU -- their parents didn't go to college, their siblings didn't go to college, and they wouldn't go to college if it weren't for football.
