Opens May 27th and limit raised to 3 per person. Still $50 per fish at current gas prices.

The three fish thing is fair. Five is too many. Two is too few. I think three or four is a really good number.

Three is fine if you can get into some 10-15 lb average fish.

What was the limit in the mid 90s? I remember going fishing as a kid then with my parents out of Destin and we caught like 20 snapper. Only me and my dad fished, my sister was 2-3 yrs old and mom got sea sick

They just need to implement a tag system and let you fish any day of the week you want to. 5 is fine in a day if you are limited by the number of tags you have for the season. I really dislike the weekend only system.

Adding 1 fish is an improvement; but still nuts. I believe 4 would have been an ideal happy/medium for most anglers to stay engaged. Also: F a Circle hook!

Eh, idc about a circle hook but why is this a rule? I understand not using a treble, but why specifically a circle hook?

It was 4 before they cut it. It should be back at 4.

The weekend only thing is stupid as well. Let the Commercial guys go all week, but the Recs only get the weekend....but i digress.

But this is an improvement over last year so a step in the right direction.

It was either 4 or 5 at 16”. Snapper are larger and more plentiful than they were back then but for some reason the trigger fish are mostly gone at the same spots. We used to run way they hell out there to get into decent sized snapper

That's so Joe citizen doesn't see how much snapper the commercial assholes are harvesting.

Isn't it supposed to reduce gut hooking fish?

I will gladly take it. I'm pretty much a Friday thru Sunday guy due to work schedule so works for me. This past few weeks weather has been nothing short of depressing for offshore. Hoping to hit that may 27th window and load up on 4 man snaps and Ajs top box off with some tuna. Sure it will be 6 to 8s that weekend lol....

I'm pretty sure it was 6 per person back then, but you also got to catch and keep a limit for each deckhand and the Capt. It was pretty easy back then to take a six pack charter and come home with 600 lbs. of fish.
