Tiger is an Alpha and LeBron is a beta. That's the main difference between why one is beloved despite all his foibles and one is despised despite being relatively "clean".

There is a real debate about Tiger and Jack. Tiger has 15 majors and 82 wins. It’s not clear that Jack is the GOAT. There is no debate about Jordan and anyone else. Jordan is the GOAT.
You will lose that bet more than you will win it.

This thread is speaking to me

I started playing golf because of Tiger in 1995. I played in college because of Tiger from 2001-2004. I met my wife in an athletic meeting for all athletes my first semester on campus.
Now I've been married for 16 yrs and have 2 kids.
If not for Tiger, I never play nerdy golf, never meet my wife, and never have my kids.
Thanks Tiger.
Jesus, dude. Act like a grown arse man. Time to stop having fantasies of Tiger plowing your wife.

I happen to think that both Jordan and Tiger are the best ever at their sport. With Tiger, there really isn't an objective argument to be made that, at the height of his career, before the injuries, he was by far the best golfer of all time.
As it is, Tiger is tied for the most career wins on tour, and is second in majors. But the pace he was on before the injuries was something that Nicklaus wasn't close to.
Arguing that Tiger isn't the best golfer ever, is like saying that Sandy Koufax isn't one of the greatest pitchers of all time, because he didn't win enough games; ignoring the fact that injuries cut his career short.
And Tiger didn't just win tournaments. He often blew the field away like a football score. When he was really on, everyone knew it was over, and you could see it in their faces. I miss those days. I don't get much of anything out of watching a bunch of good golfers rising and falling in relevance. I liked watching utter dominance, and the chasing of history. That's something you probably only see once in a lifetime, and I'm really not sure it will ever happen again, in golf.

Tiger gets the edge on this for sure, but how much does his affairs on his wife and children affect his lead?

I'm pretty neutral on Tiger Woods as a fan but there is no doubt if there was a Mt Rushmore of golf Bobby Jones, Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods would be on it

They really are similar, both second greatest, etc.
LeBron is obviously a high character version of Tiger, just an all around good guy.

WTF I don't think anyone says this about Jack. If anything it's the opposite. Higher tech clubs make what he did even more impressive in a lot of ways being able to be so good for so long

Lol.
Tiger is my favorite athlete of all time.
Lebron is my least favorite. I literally quit watching NBA basketball because of him. And I love basketball.

I opened this thinking it was about the Detroit Tigers and couldn't imagine what they did.

People don't even talk about tiger that much. I don't even know how you can compare the 2.

What are you talking about? It has been non-stop about Tiger this week. I had to turn it off.

I mean, I was watching the tournament at lunch about an hour ago and they repeatedly went to a camera that was just showing Tiger taking practice swings before his tee time AND they had computer analysis on the screen of these practice swing.

He’s competing in the Masters less than two years after having his leg shattered with no guarantee he’d even be able to ever play competitively again. That’s a solid storyline, and you’re a clown to pretend it isn’t.

Been like that for Lebron for months. And watch it will probably continue during the playoffs.

the live coverage doesn't start until 2:00 CST. What you were watching was "Live at the Masters," a talk show. It always shows guys practicing on the range and green

I don't really deal in storylines, I just like to watch the golf competition. You can soak up all the Tom Rinaldi crap you like, it is not for me.

It was a little worse than that. There was no guarantee he would still have a leg.
