re: For those wanting to live in a post-Christian America, how are you enjoying it

One of the things I am finding fascinating about the removal of Christianity is how people have become cult members of the religion of government. They are obsessed. It is like humans require some form of thing to worship and group up over and attack non-believers.
As a life long questioner of a higher power, I far preferred the Christians over this new form of government religion.

Atheists in the West are the product of a Christian culture. And their values are derived from Christianity.

yesterday, someone posted a video of a basketball game at a church in georgia. after the game, some of the players attacked a ref and beat him. causing him to have 30 stitches. i would say that is a perfect example of post-christian america. wasn't the ex pastor of that church a pedo?

The fact there are many many many Catholics who live thinking they can get to heaven if they are “good enough” is a testament to that
Fair enough, but I think the distinction needs to be made insomuch as this is not official church teaching. Yes, proper catechesis is the responsibility of the church, but it continues to baffle me when I hear ex-Catholics blame the church for their breathtaking ignorance. Instructors are not responsible for when kids go wool-gathering instead of paying attention in class. The worst are these fundamentalist types who "got saved" and now feel obligated to justify their "decision for Jeeeeeezuz" by running down the faith of their fathers with trash arguments (like the idea that they were taught a "works salvation.")

Official church teachings mean nothing if they’re distorted by the time they reach the people
You just said it yourself: Baptists, Fundamentalists, and Presbyterians have the issue of many of their people believing all they have to do is choose salvation or be chosen for it once and their lifestyle doesn’t matter because “once saved always saved” has been taught instead of “perseverance of the saints”

I get what you mean by the difference in the Hebrew translation of that verse but….none of that follows

Stable and prosperous? Who made that claim?
Roman society was extremely stable and prosperous for hundreds of years.

Christian and Jewish culture are two very different thing. It’s everything from attitudes on killing, Christianity is pacifist, to the Christian proscriptions against usury.
Judeo-Christian is like saying Judeo-Islamic. Both are built from the Torah, but there are substantial differences.

What?
Did you miss the Crusades? Also, your last sentence doesn’t make sense when talking about Christianity as a whole.

That would be incorrect. I get what you are intending to say but it’s inaccurate. Why?
1. Christians see the Hebrew Bible on the same level as the New Testament cannon wise whereas Muslims see the Quran as superior.
2. The Quran was inspired by both the Hebrew Bible AND the New Testament (evident in the writings and knowing Muhammad’s history). Meaning it is another level removed from the Jewish faith

I’m not good at reading your mind, but my best guess is that you think Roman society is a template for a good life.
So, you’re good with wars of conquest? Mass slavery? Massive amounts of torture as punishment or simply for sport? Widows and unwanted children literally left to die in the street? Use of young boys as sex slaves? And on and on I could go.

Exactly the case. The watered-down version of "Christianity" has become a sad joke and many of its Church policies along with its Pastors, Reverends and Priests, heretical.
These bogus strains and just as narcissistic and materialistic as the secular world. The Bible doesn't dance around it; its warns: "NARROW IS THE PATH."
Time spent in faith and worship of our Lord should NOT be considered a "sentence" or as some kind of accrued Heavenly "credit" system based on "time spent in church confinement." Yet, that's how many of us have looked at attendance and fellowship (especially when a football game was on at the same time -- admit it, baws. )

A large chunk of the secular community are against a lot of the social changes occurring.
This is more of America suffering because it's a victim of it's own prosperity than anything spiritual. Think of the poem "strong people create good times..."
There's truth here^^^^ but we Christians would say this country was divinely established and the prosperity generations of Americans enjoyed is the result of a nation that acknowledged the Creator's blessings. Is it a coincidence the more Americans embrace agnosticism, atheism, secularism, paired with Meism the degradation of society increases and the prosperity of the nation plummets?
