re: The truth is Coach K Bill Self and Will Wade should have all been fired for cheating

fricking Washington Post wrote an article saying Self could be the voice of college basketball now that K is gone. This is all they wrote about their investigation.
Blue blood privilege and an unflinching AD go a long way.

He has dealt with an NCAA infractions case that has hung over the program and, in generations past, might muddy his legacy. But in a world in which players can now (rightfully) be compensated for their market value, what once seemed seedy can become aboveboard.

and that is exactly how Woodward should have dealt with it rather than totally destroying the bb program. NIL would have made all allegations superfluous.
I suspect there is more to the FIL/NCAA relationship than meets the eye. No NCAA FIL and things probably would have happened much differently.

See the exact text messages. You decide if they match/equal allegations against WW.
You've posted this before beaux...you can interpret it your way if you want - you come across like LSU fans rationalizing the tape...I thought this part interesting:
"In my mind, it's KU, Bill Self. Everyone else fall into line. Too (expletive) bad," Gassnola replied. "That's what's right for Adidas basketball. And I know I'm right. The more you have lottery picks and you happy. That's how it should work in my mind."
"That's how ur (sic) works. At UNC and Duke," Self replied.
Gassnola answered by saying Kentucky as well.
"I promise you I got this," Gassnola texted. "I have never let you down. Except (Deandre). Lol. We will get it right."
What that exchange features is Gassnola essentially promising Self that he'll help him land five-star prospects because Kansas is Adidas' biggest basketball program and what's good for Kansas is good for Adidas. Gassnola assures Self he will deliver because he's never previously let him down -- except for that time with Deandre Ayton, the five-star center who enrolled at Arizona, a Nike school, even though Gassnola paid one of Ayton's friends $15,000, according to testimony last week. And Self welcomes the help from Adidas because, he believes, North Carolina and Duke get similar help from Nike. So does Kentucky, Gassnola proclaims.
Simply put, this has been college basketball for a while.
Gassanola later confirms as much in court testimony.

The first step in the grieving process over the loss of a loved one is anger and denial.

Woodward had the balls who needed to be fired despite his popularity with the fans.

Not sure how I come across as any way but neutral with this post. I posted texts and said, “You decide.”

Not sure this deserved a 5 month bump

I agree 100% but you left out Calipari and Pearl. You know NCAA had something on them but would not pursue it, because wasn't as blatant as the other 3. Went for low hanging fruit and didn't want to fire their blue blood legends and tarnish their rep's. Like what happened to Joe Pa. Will Wade was the newby and gaining traction by cheating just like their heros' but they didn't like it and had to dispose of him, before he and LSU took over NCAA basketball.

AGREE, but it's football season now...

To say Wade was sloppy is not the full context.
It wasn't even that he was sloppy. He brazenly snubbed his nose at the rules and didn't even attempt to hide what he was doing. He was stupid and should have been fired. Its all good LSU ended up with a better coach when all was said and done.

LSU just upgraded at coach. McMahon did more in the tourney at Murray State than Wade did at LSU. Good hire by WW.

Woodward played along to throw a bone out to his FIL at the expense of LSU.
All this time and you dumb asses still haven't gotten this right.

It sucks but Wade is radioactive for a while. Anyone who doesn’t get that is not living on this planet.
He will get a 10 year show cause.

Wade was sloppy and among others things, lied, was noncompliant, and had terrible representation.

Just like Dale Brown, Ed Orgeron and the player with your namesake.
You just always had an AC to grind because you like other Orgeron cock riders, were insecure little children as that snake oil salesman burned down the program.

I liked Will Wade. With the facts that came out he was never going to be able to retain his job. There’s not much more to it

This is a weird thread now that paying players is legal.
Wade was before his time?
