How is that any different than a conservative, who would typically be against more government power, being pragmatic in believing that while he's not happy with it ideologically speaking, he thinks the potential negatives of legal weed outweigh the positives? He's making an internal compromise just like you are.
Because I’m not fighting to restrict anyones rights, I’m just taking the wins as I can get them because this issue has needlessly been held at a standstill for far too long. You show me a bill decriminalizing all drugs and it has my support and I believe that day is coming eventually.

"if they don't agree with me they're being arbitrary" and other digs aren't honest discussion.
well I’m sorry if it struck a nerve, but in context of this board being fairly lockstep citing personal liberty and freedom being more important than the perceived collective health in reference to the government forcing the COVID vaccine upon unwilling individuals, I found it ironic that there were takes essentially taking the exact opposite stance on the government prohibition of weed, where the perceived collective health outweighs personal liberty. I think creating a logical framework to make this perfectly consistent seems difficult, hence why I thought it arbitrary.

Nobody is perfectly consistent, you included.

To the extent I want drugs regulated it's not the perceived public health, it's the my liberty is infringed by having to support others. If you could buy crack at the Gas & Sip I firmly believe I would be called on to support more of them. So it is about personal liberty: mine.

well if it helps I also hate most entitlements

I hear ya man. The fact that there might be more addicted people if we let people pursue their own vices and these people would constitute a public burden is not lost on me. I just think at present most people that would pursue these harder drugs under any circumstance already do so and we already have most of that burden. Mostly I just don’t think government intervention into what vices perfectly able people are allowed to pursue is something I can stomach. I think nations like Portugal that have walked the decriminalization path shed some light on the increased usage rates one could expect.

But even if you disagree with my claim that the public burden wouldn’t be horrifyingly different; if your concern isn’t the public health but entitlements for addicted people, I think weed definitely wouldn’t pose much of a dilemma for you, although I know you’ve said as much already.
Frankly, on a personal note, I’m mostly just emotionally invested in edibles and maybe mushrooms. I want to use these things on occasion and know without question I’ll continue to perform in my life unimpeded with their occasional use. I’ll probably shut up fighting the drug fight if these two things can be rescheduled to appropriately reflect their properties.

Evidently you never smoked. Drinking alcohol is way worse for causing someone to miss work. The only way weed would effect someone and their job would be to smoke at work. The same thing alcohol would do

I guess I forgot that was one of the arguments for legalizing gambling and casinos. The results of all the extra tax revenue from gambling is that Louisiana has the finest roads and education systems in the country.
You can thank Louisiana corrupt political system for the crumbling infrastructure and education. It's just who they are.

I actually hate these arguments. Those people aren’t moving down here and if they do they are going to liberal New Orleans. Which is already full of those types.

I meant I don’t mind profiting off of weed stocks, could give a rip about tax revenue

I don’t know why people downvote this. I smoked for about 4 months once. I was completely worthless the whole time.

It was bound to happen.
Now for the regulations that tilt toward former tobacco giants like Philip Morris.

When Louisiana did this so many lives were ruined afterwards. Families were ruined due to easy access of gambling and frankly frick all was improved.

So how did the vote go?
I did see a very interesting collection of thoughts while using. A lovely composition really. Its all about perspective:
"They want us to forget that humanity is a miracle
Just take a moment to think about how incredible the human body is. How incredible the human mind is. We can think. We have consciousness. We feel emotions. We are made up of an insane number of systems - our brains and the way our bodies are able to function is simply beyond comprehension. We are walking miracles.
Not to mention the earth itself - we are just surrounded by beauty constantly and not even acknowledging it. Mountains, deserts, beaches, canyons, waterfalls, oceans larger than we can even imagine, stars burning in our skies and the sun ( which is perfectly positioned in space so it heats us but doesn’t kill us, btw) in the big bright blue sky. We have animals, which is also a miracle. Dogs and cats and all kinds of pets and wild animals that cohabitate with us, communicate with us, share the earth with us. It’s wild. But there’s still just something about humanity.
We are souls. We are something that can never be matched, never recreated. We are something beyond understanding - and if you can’t fully understand something, you can never replicate it. We are something that can never be destroyed or controlled, no matter how hard they try.
“Beneath this mask there is more than flesh Mr Creedy. Beneath this mask there is an idea. And ideas are bulletproof.” - V for Vendetta, 2005
For those of you who are unreligious, skip to the next paragraph. We were each created for a purpose, we are here for a reason, we are stronger than we realize. We have The Lord on our side, and we are living for His glory - not for theirs. They have no power over us, because we do not look to them. We serve nobody but God, therefore they cannot control us. They need us - we do not need them.
The conspiracy is the fact that they are killing the human spirit - or at least trying to. If we all realized how incredible we are, how incredible it is that we exist, the miracle that every single second of life is... we would have nothing to fear. They would have no power over the population and would become obsolete. They need us to be distracted in every way possible - wasting the miracle that is our lives away, always searching for the next best thing, each day becoming more homogenized and electronic, never realizing the miracle of life and therefore never living it to the fullest. The mysticism and romanticism of life is being stripped away - every day we grow further and further away from our humanity, and so many simply don’t recognize it.
Don’t let them fool you. Don’t let them keep you distracted. Don’t let them control your life. Get up, go to the gym, go fishing, hug your family, kiss your significant other, raise lots of kids and teach them well... focus on the little things. Remember how special it is that you exist, and that we have this gorgeous earth at our feet, and that we were made to live full lives with purpose and determination. Don’t get so caught up in the world they’ve created that you lose sight of the world God created."
