There is a hip roof behind that faux wall to make it look “modern”. What a terrible design.

If you grew up in that neighborhood, you called that street Ori-on, if you didn’t, you pronounce it O-ryon.

These two really chap my hide, when you consider what was on that lot before:
This is right behind the In-and-Out Car Wash. About a year ago I went there, and noticed the back area wasn't as shady as before. Looked over and saw that the lot behind (a vacant lot at 817 Orion) was in the process of being clear-cut and leveled. Many large trees, including two ancient beautiful Live Oaks, were on their way down.
If this were under the Metairie Ridge Tree Preservation District in Old Metairie, the removal of that 1st tree in particular would not have been allowed. It was in the required front yard setback, healthy, and a listed desirable species (Live Oak).
I think it is well beyond time that the same tree preservation restrictions present in most of Old Metairie are extended to the rest of Metairie, and possibly even the entire Parish.

Probably should've swept the floors before taking pictures.

This looks like a fancied-up doublewide on stilts.
I'll bet there is a well worn path to the walmarks behind it.
