Its a shame that Alex Honnold is not one of the most recognizable athletes in the word.

His free soloing of El Capitan, is much greater than anything any foosball or basket hoop player has ever done.
It is almost like he single-handedly advanced human evolution.
And I know some people will say there are better climbers than him, but it's different when one mistake will kill you.

He should transition into a woman. Would be on a Wheaties box overnight.

Is your name "James" by chance? I'm not 100% positive?

*Free Solo" is a fantastic documentary.
ETA: The Alpinist about Marc-André Leclerc is also fantastic

If he were black I guarantee you he'd have a 7-figure sponsorship and would be on international Nike or Adidas ad campaigns

Watched 14 peaks on Netflix after listening to the Joe Rohan podcast with Nimsdai Purja. I found it interesting he said that had he been born in the US he would be much more famous. I think some of the comments in here are more accurate: you have to add - American plus black/female/alphabet soup.
FYI - dude is an absolute badass

Alex has no desire to be that famous, so it's not a shame.

All I know is his girlfriend/fiance/wife is a saint

I honestly don’t think he cares at all. He truly lives to climb and doesn’t seem to care about anything else. It will be interesting to see how he handles aging.

Very true. He seems to be the guy who climbs a hard mountain, enjoy the view quietly, and carry on to the next day. He’s not the like the typical modern athlete where he has to flex or make a dance after a play.

Check out Fred Becky. Probably similar.

He was even more impressive than Honnold. He was just more reckless and not as calculated as Honnold. The Alpinist was fantastic and like Honnold, he was not looking for the limelight.

He did arguably more difficult climbs and died on an "easy" climb because of an avalanche. Just shows how crazy these guys are - there's so much outside their control that can result in death in an instant
ETA: if I remember correctly, he died on the descent too, after completing the climb

You can say that again.

Honestly, that's exactly how I feel about Usain Bolt.
Did we really just watch a man hold the distinction of being the fastest human on earth for twelve years? That almost doesn't make any biological sense, and people just casually think a triple double is going to happen again.
How many more years will have to go by before people start to realize that Usain Bolts come along about as often as Leonardo da Vincis

regardless, evolution isn't real so stop believing and advancing that satanic bs.
