Thanks for the play-by play.
I’m no expert and I don’t post much, but I’ve been going to LSU baseball games since Jack Lamabe.
I haven’t been more disappointed in a team since the 1989(?) football team. We were preseason ranked around 6-7; highest SEC team, and Mike Archer said that we were underrated. We went 4-7.
I knew that this baseball team didn’t have a championship pitching staff, but I thought our hitting would be the best in the country. The pitching isn’t terrible, but it’s not good. The hitting disappears against good pitchers. And the fielding is the worst I’ve ever seen at this level. My Dixie Youth team in 1971 played better defense than this team. I was 13 years old and I played better RF than Berry.
You can’t judge baseball on a small sample size, but I’ve seen enough.
I thought we were a CWS team, but this is the most disappointing Tiger team since that ‘89 football team.
Edit- I’m usually an optimist.

I’m currently watching San Francisco vs Portland since we’re looking at the shortstop and Friday starter for USF. (USF fired their coach and these guys will be in the portal it seems)
The shortstop is good, real good. But he’s got a pre-batters-box routine that would make Nomar Garciaparra and Sergio Garcia say “this fricking guy needs to hurry it up”. Given our current pace of play issues, I can’t in good conscience endorse that.

He and Reyz must be really good buddies, trying to out shenanigan each other

Go look at a replay of the end of the Texas-TTU game tonight to see the ultimate outcome of Reyzelman’s toe taps.

Think Travinski starts behind the plate?

I do and I refuse to say that it can’t get any worse with the way this season has played out thus far.
But the word is that Travinski’s throws to second base off a bunt have less tail than McAnus.

I miss LSU as an elite baseball program. The devolution of LSU baseball since Skip's departure in 2001 has been both breathtaking, and heartbreaking. We've gone full circle to the pre-Bertman era of Jim Smith and Jack Lamabe; rotten baseball played in Alex Box in front of miniscule crowds sitting on splintered bleachers.

JJ needs to move thompson. If we are not going to score runs at least have a solid D.
He needs to shake sheet up now before the season is over.
Too much talent not to figure this out.

At this time I cannot disagree with you on that.

I hope so

I hope to see some drastic changes to the lineup. What is there to lose at this point?
They can’t play worse than they are right now.

Sticking this here until I start game thread
So basically no changes other than swapping Doughty & Thompson
