I can buy Kirkland brand sunglasses from Costco that are the same quality for 30 bucks.

Sunglasses are some of the highest margin items sold today.

quote:

Designer sunglasses have some of the highest profit margins of any product. The technology needed to maximize the medical benefits of sunglasses, such as polarizing light and reducing glare, costs only a few dollars. Manufacturers of high-end sunglasses reap huge profits because consumers pay hundreds of dollars for name recognition. Luxottica, for instance, has a gross profit of 64 cents on every dollar it spends manufacturing sunglasses and a 52-cent net profit on every dollar, according to Brett Arends of The Wall Street Journal.

I found a pair of broken costas and RMA’d them for a new pair a couple years ago. I’d say that was pretty neat.

I seriously just dropped my MJ sunnies on the floor and cracked the lenses.

Will they replace this for free?

I can't say they will bc I had no clue they would be so good at customer service. However, I sent my pair in around mid December and got the Merry Christmas note and it was a nice treat. Hope they treat you as well as they treated me all through the years.

They "repaired" a completely smashed pair of glasses for me for $90 a couple years ago. Went up to around 160 for full frame/lense replacement, but new pair runs $300 so still worth it. Opted to get a new pair of Shady Rays though for $60 and worth it

Exactly my experience with MJ. Best sunglasses I’ve ever had and they keep giving me new ones after my clumsy arse wife sits on them

Costa has gone to shite

I bought a new pair (already had 2 very old pair) and the FRAME broke within a couple months. Their quality is on par with Walmart glasses now

I broke a air of the titanium frames years ago playing softball and had a golf tournament two days later. I called them and told them what happened and they overnighted me a new pair and told me to stick the old pair in the box and drop it off when I got a chance the next week.

I have a pair of Maui's with prescription lenses and absolutely love them - they're great driving glasses as they wrap around the side to block glare from the mirrors in the semi. They're in great shape after a couple of years of rough daily use and instead of having to buy new frames and lenses this go round I was only on the hook for new lenses. Had to have the nose pieces replaced a couple of times but on the first time I ordered them they sent 6 instead of just 1 with a note thanking me for ordering. Well worth the investment up front.

I've had mine for 12 years and I couldn't agree more. I'll probably never own another brand.

I prefer reversible, washable suits with Dectalene shirts.

Just depends on timing.

Same thing happened to me at Costa.

But the opposite happened at Maui Jim.

They charged me forty dollars to fix frame and they weren’t really fixed.

It put MJ off the purchasing radar for me.

To hear your story is funny for me. It just matter which customer service agent handles the claim, I suppose.
