Yeah I’m wondering about that. Is there some out or loophole that we don’t know about? Cause the way it looks to me, getting rid of Ryan (trade or cut) could cost $55M on the 22 cap. So in theory to realistically do it, they’d have to carry both for the year.

Falcons even with Watson would be dreadful for at least a year or two.

This is too impatient of a move for them. Like you said they are going to suck next year either way, so why trade away all of your picks? If they were smart they’d ride out Ryan’s contract, rebuild the roster, then trade for a QB.

On top of the dead cap and lack of weapons, you’d imagine they’d have to give up a starter or 2 (Terrell, Jones, Jarrett, Matthews to name a few)

i don't know what the attraction is for Watson to Altanta. their roster is similarly built the same as the Texans which he wants no part of

A ton of dead cap, no WRs, a pretty shitty team all around, no first round picks for 3 years, possibly no 2nd round pick either, and giving up 2 starters.

I get maybe just saying they will deal with the pain for a year or two and they have their QB, but I don't get it for Watson unless going home means that much to him.

That doesn’t make any sense. Seems more like the Texans leaking that than anything. They’re in a total rebuild with no weapons outside of Pitts and a pitiful OL and defense. They might be worse than the Texans

Wrong. She is usually pretty well connected.

She seems to be pretty well connected among the Head Coaches in the league, def gets info from them rather than Front Offices it would seem.

Big time yikes.

They would have very little ability to add anyone except the middle rounds of the draft.

Saw something at lunch stating that Ryan's paperwork hasn't been submitted to the NFL, so it's not final. Talk about screwing over the face of your franchise for the past 14 years

Rapoport just came on NFL Network and said Falcons haven't restructured Ryan yet so cap hit in a trade wouldn't be that bad. He said Watson is meeting with Browns today and tentative meeting with Falcons tomorrow. He said he thinks Saints are still in good position to make it happen.

Sounds like a damned circus...but in hindsight I guess it was always going to be a circus.

But imagine forcing your way to the Falcons...what a strange decision that would be.
