Your parents should want the best for you. Plus, you’re only 26 and starting your career. You might bounce around a couple of other places before settling somewhere.

You aren’t necessarily moving away permanently.

Or if they are even a little bit adventurous, a train ticket to see the country.

Chose carefully where you live; traffic snarls are not the way to live your life and there are places to avoid them.

Just make sure the reason you want to go isn’t the girl. She will have a world of options never previously available and if you are just casually dating, it might not be something she sticks with. I mean she decided to move without knowing you could move there too.

Reminds me of all the suckers that choose a college based on their high school girlfriend and then they break up two weeks after college starts.

Enjoy the granola people, shite traffic, constant snow storms, black ice everywhere. If you’re into outdoors, you’ll love the four month that you’ll get, maybe you’ll get a relaxed fall and have some extended outdoors. Enjoy your stay, you’ll be moving again within the next 5 years.

When you see the chicks in Denver. You may ditch your girl anyway. They are different from the slobs they call women down here.

Every bit as loose as New Orleans girls.

Not as gross and fat, but very secular and very progressive. I'd imagine he sees a lot of "no Trump supporters" aka non-progressives on the dating apps.

Louisiana isn't a great place to live. Nothing you posted makes up for that.

Who would tell you not to make the move?

ETA: apparently more people than I thought.

I came back to BR after living in multiple cities for around ten years.

Take the opportunity, I guarantee you won’t regret it

If you are excited about it, resist the guilt trips, and take it. You only live once.

Don't let this happen:
