Don't get me started about FEES! Go on AirBnB and you'll see a place to rent for $230 a night but it really comes out to a lot more a night after......FEES!!!!!
I'm going to rent our house for $300 a month. However there is a turning on the light switches fee of $235 a month. A using the bathroom facilities fee of $750 a month. A kitchen appliance usage fee of $675 a month. And a using the back patio fee of $325 a month for a total of $2285 a month.
However I'm going to list the house for rent at $300 a month and the fees will be in very small print. I fricking hate when businesses pull this bullshite!
And where did it all begin? The restocking fee!!!!

The ole list on Ebay for $1 and charge $100 in shipping approach - yeah buddy, this game has been around a minute.

I'm less concerned about private business fees than I am about government fees.

I'm with you on this, but people keep renting and paying them. The cleaning fee and taxes are understandable. It's the high fees by Airbnb and VRBO that have become the problem. They weren't there when these services first started.

A friend on the flooring business ( retail store ) had an expert come in to maximize profits.
First thing recommended was “ fees”. Handling fee, mobilize fee, disposal fee, etc. he starting taking in an extra 5-6 thousand a month. Money that he wasn’t grabbing.
I just got finished reading the story of Godchaux’’s. The first year that they issued a membership credit card they picked up an extra cool million.

You need to switch to Capitol One.

Dealers didn't charge paperwork fees back in the day.
Another little added fee.

So if we just create a new site and charge a much smaller fee, we could still get rich and it doesn't have to be a new idea. Or better yet, we'll still charge a high rate, but we'll give a discount of so much percentage based on distance the patron has to travel because fuel is so high. It will be our encouragement for people to travel even with high gas prices.

The fees came when their user base exploded. Lure em in with cheapness, get em hooked, then jack the price up.
This isnt exactly a groundbreaking playbook.

You don't have to pay those fees, bud. If you let a dealer charge you to fill out paperwork they must complete anyway to complete the transaction, you're a sucker. Do you pay a destination fee or a document fee when you buy groceries, furniture or hire a plumber?
